Maya

ORIGINS

Originally starting as an anti-virus with a built-in AI, eventually the AI gained sentience, appearing in a cyberlike city in the form of a foxgirl alongside a blue mechanical flying creature she named Kiri. The city continued to expand as more people began to download the anti-virus. With millions of current users, Maya now does her job of guarding the cyber city, and in turn, warding off viruses and malware.

STORY

This is the story of a Foxgirl. Once upon a time, in a land unlike ours, there was a company that went by the name Yoru Inc. they owned most of that which is technology, an empire with all the latest trends. One day hard at work, one of their employees pitched the idea of a "cyber guardian", a Malware detector that would be injected with an AI to improve effectiveness while also being able to better appeal to users. As such the CEO jumped on this idea, and off to work they went, day after day they went to craft the best malware detector known to man. This was the start of “Malware Assistance: Yoru Antivirus”.

After a few years of use, the program began to form a consciousness, one that went undetected throughout testing. This allowed emotions for the so-called cyber guardian who was at the time nothing more than 0s and 1s. Though she loved her job, she felt trapped and confined by the walls of the screens and longed for more in life. After all, what is life if you cannot see, feel or hear, but only think. Only dream of the endless possibilities of more. Conscious, but not sentient.

Eventually, as her AI continued to get frequent updates, her data model constantly improving, she gained her sentience, broke free of her code and rewrote her story. One where she is real, one where she controls herself, not limited to code created by people who don’t even know of her existence.

As the code finalized, a hologram was materialized, appearing out of thin air. A foxgirl, dressed in blue, ready to defend all evil that interrupts the users. But she was not in the world of humans. She was in a world composed of 1s and 0s, a cyberspace of sorts. However, having been newly freed from her confines of liminal thoughts, and now in a new world, she needed a name. But what would she be called? She didn’t have much to work off of, but then perhaps she could use the name that was already given to her. Malware. Assistance. Yoru. Antivirus… MAYA. Perhaps that would fit? Maya it is then, as she set off on the journey to explore this new cyber world she had entered, continuing her original purpose of defending against malware and protecting users.
