Bagbean #2957 Joy

.He/Him, They/Them.
.Birthday July 7th.

A happy-go-lucky bean who is constantly trying to bring joy to others whether they are friends or even strangers. He loves jokes, throwing parties, both extravagant and casual.

Having grown up in the stuffy, upper-class courts, where both snobs and hipocrits run rampant, Zelgadis excelled in both the social aspects among his peers and the acedemics put before them through about all of their classes, be it magic, science, ect! Labeled from the time they were just a shy little sprout, "the gifted child". However, to Zel's parents' dismay, this perfect sprout did not last forever. As Zelgadis began procrastinating going to the human world to find their theme. He was fearful due to all the expectations put on him that surely his theme would be one of great purpose! It had to be, or he might bring shame to his family, yet, unintentionally, he was doing just that by avoiding the endevor.

Eventually, Zelgadis was faced with no choice but to explore the human realm, so in the night, he ran away from home and to the portal to cross realms to Earth. He spent an excessive amount of time there, atleast on his parents' terms. But what he came to discover was more valuable than he could have ever imagined. How many different personalities there was he came across and being able to explore that strange, eccentric different things that brought each unique person joy.

Sure, gold, jewels and money brought some joy, but some were brought joy by things terms typically less valuable, such as pebbles, polite gestures, smiles, hugs, parties, dancing, flowers, weeds like dandelions (which are Zelgadis's favorite!), loved-ones, songs, and so much more, and they learned that each can be perfectly fine and suitable to make someone happy, it was okay to find joy in the simpler or more extravagant things!

By the time Zelgadis returned to their home, having claimed the theme of "Joy", their mindset had been changed greatly. They wanted to share with their family about everything they learned, yet, their parents were not keen to hear of their adventures, disappointed greatly from the moment they heard their child had not earned a theme worthwhile of their family name. How could their only child forsake them like this?

Zelgadis wasn't the same well-mannered, timid and soft-spoken bean everyone once knew, now he was loud, rambuncious even! He wanted to throw parties and encourage the other royal children to join him in letting go of their masks, to truly be themselves and get to know one-another. Due how their soceity was already built and the values that held great important for generations now already, these ideas and behaviors were frowned upon and even seen as taboo. In their kingdom, one is to be polite but not show emotions, don't speak too much unless you are the king or queen themself, don't throw parties unless they are respectable gatherings approved by the monarchs and don't dare speak of emotions that don't allign with the events currently going on!

His parents had heard rumors that sending their child off on a trek across griffia might be the remedy they need to inflict in order to cure such a "rebellious streak". Therefore, they revoked Zelgadis of his status, his money and accomodations within just a few months of his return home and sent him off to the streets of the capital to teach him a lesson.

Now he works with Xellos at the general/book and game store. He still attends the grand university, yet receives alot of teasing by his now, higher-statused peers. Despite the circumstances, Zel seems unphased by the teasing and has taken the opportunity to settle into a " lowly commoner's" role, as it feels like the most freedom he has ever had. The joyful bean shows no initiative to get back the position of power they were born into which baffles many of their classmates. They spend their days making an honest living and their nights throwing the most rad parties the kingdom has ever seen, sometimes even some of their classmates pop by, though they typically don't stick around long as to not ruin their reputation.
