So, I ran into this guy at my local convenience store, and it struck me that there might be new management or something. The last time I visited, a different face was behind the counter. But, setting that aside, this fellow was kind enough to assist me. I couldn't help but notice that, unlike everyone else, he didn't have a nametag. When I pointed it out, he casually mentioned he lost it or something. Now, that resonated with me because I tend to forget things quite often. It's almost like I have a screw loose or something! Despite the absence of a nametag, he turned out to be a pretty nice guy, and it's always refreshing to encounter helpful souls, especially in a convenience store.
“Seems to be a local at the convenience store that I work with. His appearance is unusual, for starters, but I wouldn’t take that negatively. His uniqueness has its own captivating charm to it, accompanied by his friendly demeanor. Unfortunately, this was around the time I had misplaced my name tag, and a new one hadn’t been made for me yet, but I hold no grudge to questions. Very easy to show around, customers like him make a shift easy!”
This little dude is an absolute gem. I must admit, I was a bit unsure if he wanted me to follow him, but my curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to tag along. To my delight, he led me to one of the most picturesque spots I've ever laid eyes on. While my usual medium is clay, I couldn't resist picking out a pumpkin I spotted and settling down next to him.
In a comfortable silence, we both happily worked on our creations. When he caught a glimpse of my finished piece, he pulled out a notebook and drew a little thumbs-up, signing it "Maple." It was such a silly and endearing gesture that warmed my heart. Maple and I then decided to have a little competition, seeing who could toss our pumpkins the furthest against the trees. It turned out to be a night filled with laughter (probably just mine, but I think I heard some air hissing from his direction) and joy.
As we wrapped up our impromptu pumpkin throwing, I motioned for his notebook so I could doodle a little smiley face, signing it with a bat to commemorate our fun evening together. It's moments like these that remind me of the simple joys in life and the beauty of unexpected friendships. I hope to see him again! 😊
[ Maple writes down in his notebook for a couple moments before turning it to the reader. Bats litter the page alongside a fox in the corner. ]
" Mikha'el is awesome. 🦇 Not only does he look cool, he also spent lots of time with me carving pumpkins! 🎃 I think he followed me mid-afternoon and we didn't part ways until nearly midnight. It was lots of fun! "
" I think he might be one of the coolest angemos I've seen. He can toss pumpkins pretty far!! I couldn't throw unless I really tried... 💧💧 He is bigger than me and has more muscles, maybe that is why. "
" I should try to find him again and show him another cool spot for more fun activities. I had a blast hanging out with him and I really think we could maybe be friends. "
" If I can manage something like that. "

So, I stumbled upon this cafe labeled as a cat cafe, and I must confess, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I thought it was some kind of fancy coffee flavour or something. Little did I know, as soon as I stepped inside, I was bombarded by a bunch of tiny, fuzzy creatures. I wasn't quite sure what to make of them – were they gemonos without wings?
Before I could even muster a greeting, they all seemed to scatter and dart away from me. It was a bit disheartening, to say the least. Despite the efforts of one of the staff members to coax them back, they remained aloof. Oh well, at least I managed to snag a cup of coffee for my troubles. But I can't say I'd be rushing back anytime soon, given that I clearly wasn't the most welcome guest at that place… 💔
Macabre seemed lost, as he wandered into my Cafe one time. What's funny is that when he did come in, all the cats came and ran to him, just to sniff him, and then quickly dispersed. I couldn't help but laugh a little at the funny display, cats sure are interesting creatures, right? O-Oh, right, I did ask him if he needed anything, I did end up offering to make him a coffee as compensation for the cats, even if they weren't much of a bother. Maybe he'll come by another day.
I've really taken a liking to Victor; he's such a delight to converse with. We've shared our experiences with death, and I've found our discussions to be incredibly enlightening. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone in my journey as one of the undead.
Our paths crossed at a graveyard, of all places; I was visiting my own grave, a ritual to honor someone whose whereabouts remain unknown to me. It was there that I discovered Victor works at the graveyard. I decided to take a chance and invited him out for a quick bite, and I'm so glad I did. Despite his shy demeanor, he's a real sweetheart with some out-of-this-world interests (most of which went over my head, ha).
I insisted on paying for our meal, and afterward, we bid each other farewell, going our separate ways. It's rare to find someone with whom you can share such a unique bond, and I'm grateful to have met Victor ^^
“ Mikha’el is interesting… Not in a day way, but I never expect anyone to pay mind to me when I’m working yet he did. We both enjoy the quietness of the night which is uncommon to encounter, thought it makes sense considering.
I don’t doubt I’ve seen him at least once before, but with a very unique look like that, I’m unsure how It didn’t immediately click.. Again, not meant in a bad way. It is refreshing to see once I’ve met once before, even if it is not in the best of circumstances— in this case, work and death. ”
