🔮 [Tabletop] Vornalla

  Orne prides itself on purity, justice, and order, but light often begets darkness. Hidden in the shadows of Orne’s deepest forests lies a small society of those dedicated to their moon goddess, Hecate. A coven? A cult? None who encountered them could say for sure, and many in Orne would consider them both and more: sinful heathens bent on corruption and chaos.

  Though very few know this matriarchal cult’s intentions, their lurid rituals with beings from the realm of chaos would forever change them physically and mentally. Children born into the cult began to reflect the same warped traits as their parents, and such would be seen as a blessing from their goddess.

  One such child, the last born under the moonlight of their goddess, would be known as Vornalla. Every woman her elder would become her mother, her teacher, her grandmother, and her guide. Her peers became her friends, sisters, and lovers.

  For many years the cult thrived, until one day they were gone.

  During a pilgrimage Vornalla had been sent on alone, the Duchy struck. Instead of a warm greeting, Vornalla returned to nothing but ash and the strong smell of death.

  That night, amidst nightmares and tears, her patron came to her, whispering about a large crystal sword to the west. Vornalla would then journey to this new land in search of power to restore her cult and destroy Orne.
