Seir is a demon much older than his counterpart, Sebastian Michaelis. He bears the title of the Goetian cavalier due to being an influential being of the underworld Seir has a legion of 26 other fiends in which he is in control of. Despite his 'nobility' he is graceful and possesses a courteous personality; Seir is eloquence and has a grand accumulation of knowledge in the arts as a result of his vast age, this is notable among conversation with him as he tends to speak in an ode-like ornate tongue, much like a pseudo-Lambic pentameter. This is a result of his fluency in middle-English, which has became his colloquial speech pattern. Some may not be able to tell if Seir is reciting a poem or just speaking, though Sebastian knows to tell them apart accordingly.

Furthermore, the arts is something Seir enjoys most, spanning beyond the arts of humans, Seir often quotes lines from poetry frequently. All of which is a permanent language upon Seir's tongue. Despite Seir's humbleness, he looks down upon demons that were once humans, humans themselves and demons who break their aesthetics, finding them to be disgraceful and unworthy, this leads to him holding a 'holier than thou' attitude towards them, as ironic as that is.

It is stated that Seir has a long-standing history with Sebastian. Decades before Sebastian had entered a contract with Ciel Phantomhive, he and Seir would reap stray souls together mercilessly like unkempt beasts. Seir praised Sebastian for his cunning yet elegant nature - something that is not seen often - he had offered Sebastian a place within his legion, which Sebastian respectfully declined, finding himself to be a more sufficient by himself. As years past, Sebastian grew bored of the low grade souls Seir would consume like a filter feeder, Sebastian needed something more refined to his tastes, therefore they began to drift apart as Sebastian turned his eyes to Earth, finding feasts every now and then. Among their unexpected reunion in the woods surrounding the Phantomhive manor at the height of night, the two demons reconciled their companionship after a long confrontation. Sebastian came to realise that Seir knew truly nothing of humans... Seir happened upon England only in search of Sebastian; the one spice of his long demon's life that he had missed... strange, these emotions are...

Meanwhile Seir is unadjusted to human life, admittedly, Seir has little interest in entering contracts with humans as he believes that human lives are too short to be of any significance to him and questions Sebastian's affinity for them. "They might die of olden age before you feast." Seir would speak at times. Though Sebastian knows otherwise, Seir's traditional demon views cloud his own judgement on what a truely refined soul tastes like. Sebastian had little issue with bringing Ciel to Seir, as one of the Goetian cavalier's oaths hold the promise of never coveting a soul that is already under a contract, and no matter how beastly Seir has become, he never breaks his oaths.
