Mintpaw is a handsome chocolate tortoiseshell flamepoint tom with mottled dark, creamy, and light brown markings on his face, paws, ears, and tail. Standing slightly taller than the average cat and boasting an average build, his almond-shaped yellow eyes compliment his pelt color.
His short pelt is exceptionally soft to the touch, and his scent is similar to that of freshly-cut grass and clipped hedgerows. A small, thin scar is hidden beneath his fluff on his hindleg from where he was caught in a thorn bush in his excitement to explore his Clan's territory. Most distinctive about him is his long, fluffy tail, as well as his big ears that make him near impossible to miss when searching for him in a crowd.

- Pacifist: "Make love, not war!" is pretty much Mintpaw's motto. He is a pacifiest of the highest degree, for better or worse...and many times for worse, making this a sort of subclass of his bystander flaw. If someone even seems the slightest bit violent, he wrinkles his nose at them and has a bad habit of automatically categorizing them negatively in his head based on these actions, before giving them a proper chance to actually show him who they are. He keeps these judgments on them for quite some time and there are many instances where he isn't very open to changing them at all. He wants everything to be daises and roses, and that's not how life works. One of his Clanmates, Mudpaw, falls into this category, as Mintpaw looks down on Mudpaw for wanting to be a great fighter.
- The Boy Who Cried Wolf: Everything is The Worst (capitals) to him whenever anything bad happens. He'll repeatedly make a huge fuss over things that don't actually make a difference (e.g. lying about being too sick or faking injuries to avoid battle practice is a common one; he'll even lay in the medicine cat den and allow Brooksplash to waste herbs on him). He's the boy who cried wolf, and eventually, cats are going to stop running over to help him!

• Born into a small family, with two brothers to a mated pair, Frostfire and Smallfoot• Was the middle child, with the oldest being Whitekit and Flowerkit as the youngest
• Met Bluekit and Stormkit, two fellow nursery denmates
• Befriended Coalkit and Cricketkit, and became acquainted with Mudkit
• Had an easy kithood alongside his brothers for the most part with little to no challenges
Apprenticeship || 6-12 Moons
• Was called forward to his apprentice ceremony with Whitepaw ad Flowerpaw• His mentor is an older stern senior warrior called Shellfish (pfffft-), who was a Daylight Warrior, which he thought was totes mcgoats
• Met a silver-white genderfluid cat called Silverpaw, who was his denmate; developed a crush on him after spending so much time together
• Despite encouragement from Bluepaw and Stormpaw (notably the former...), he kept putting off telling Silverpaw how he felt
• Attended the monumental meeting, during which the SkyClan medicine cat informed their leader of a new prophecy foretelling SkyClan splittig up
• Promptly decided that he wanted to join the group that was leaving to find new territory
• His parents and littermates decided to stay behind in the comfort and familarity of SkyClan, as did Silverpaw, much to Mintpaw's disappointment and dismay
• Reiterated his desire to leave with the journeying cats, cause that's really cool!! Plus, he's never one to sit back and not explore, so there's that, too
• Once again, refused to tell Silverpaw his feelings, even when it got closer to the time to leave
• Unfortunately, Shellfish informed him that she was staying, too, because she didn't want to leave her Twolegs...pooey

• He and the tabby, Antlerpaw, befriended one another, with Antlerpaw seemingly somber and Mintpaw trying to cheer him up

• Joined SunClan with Stormpaw, Bluepaw, Cricketpaw, and Coalpaw, as they were the only familiar faces he knew after growing up together

• While hunting near the boundary with MoonClan, he discovered a gorgeous field full of various flowers of all different kinds
• In this field, he bumped into Fadepaw, Antlerpaw's brother, who he initially thought was going to attack him
• Eventually settled and sunbathed with Fadepaw while they talked; Fadepaw told him about his and his littermates' mother, Bluewillow (OH, NO. MINTPAW MADE HIS NEW FRIEND CRY ON ACCIDENT)
• Comfort snuggling ensued, bc Mintpaw is touchy-feely af and snuggles fix everything to him, tbh
• Oh, and they had a play-fight, which is weird, 'cause Mintpaw seriously hates any sort of fighting (he plans to have a hell of a freakout about that later)
• When Fadepaw mentioned wanting to meet again, Mintpaw expressed distress that Fadepaw might forget about him, but Fadepaw reassured him that he wouldn't
• Parted ways with Fadepaw, but gave him a red flower and promised to come back to meet again, like the friggen idiot he is
• While near the MoonClan border yet again (stay away from there, ffs!), he met Frecklepaw
- NAME(S) MEANING
- Mint — Honestly, his parents just liked the sound of it
- Paw — Traditional naming for his current rank
- Bro — Because he and Bluepaw are as close as brothers (Bluepaw's nickname only)
- Sunshine — For the way the sun shone on his pelt in the flower meadow; Fadepaw's nickname only
- Poppy — From Waterlily, for his colorpoint markings and yellow eyes
- Human!AU, his name is Mitch. He is a starving artist (smh)
- Mimtpaw was made purely from a generator. I even used a generator to decide his age OTL
- Because his love language is flowers, he's always giving them out to those he cares about, which started with Fadepaw and Antlerpaw! He isn't one for dexterity to create flower crowns or bracelets, but he likes to tuck them behind his ears if possible
- Legit my most touchy-feeling character and outsells even Berryrose in that department. He loves hugs and snuggles, and would cuddle a stranger if they let him
- He falls in love very easily, but this only extends to a couple cats if their personalities click (which they don't always; I've learned if they don't click right off, it doesn't really tend to go anywhere). For him, love at first sight is very much a thing! I usually love slowburns and refuse to go fast (heck, all my other pairings have taken months, if not years sometimes, to get together), but he doesn't give me that option! He's the only character I have who'll genuinely fall in love with a total stranger if he feels a connection, but aforementioned connection isn't common. It happened with Fadepaw and Antlerpaw, but he had no such reactions to Cricketpaw, Tawnypaw, Mudpaw, Frecklepaw, Waterlily, etc.
- Boy, oh, boy does he love so deeply that it's almost alarming. Once he loves someone, they could break his heart over and over, heart in his paw to offer it back
- Even though he knows he doesn't "own" anyone and they don't owe him anything in return, he gets jealous easily esp. when he found out that Fade and Antler have other SC friends, but he tries to hide it and...uh...kinda fails
- First off, this is a Diaster Gays Only zone, so you can jot that down!!
- Is he actually hella gay or just has a preference for males? Who knows!! We're gonna find out (still gays only tho)
- I just really wanted a tom with the -flower suffix. Technically, I've already got Ryeflower and I hate having the same prefix/suffix in my characters, whether they are being used or not, but this is an exception
- He's kinda my comfort character, right after Berryrose. I adore him so much
- Sometimes he likes to sit beside rivers or streams and just doze next to them, because of how quiet and peaceful running water is (that, or he goes fishing for shells)
- Unlike most SunClan cats, he's a very good swimmer! This is only because his SkyClan mentor, Shellfish, was a Daylight Water and mixed with Bengal, a breed that loves to swim. She passed this enjoyment of water onto Mintpaw
- He just wants to smoosh faces with every boy (and maybe girl) and nonbinary pal he sees!!
- He was vaguely inspired by Fernsong from the A Vision of Shadows arc, but has kinda deviated from that
- His favorite number is #4. It's a nice, even number

- Originally, his name was Nettleflower, but at the time, the prefix by two other characters in the roleplay group he was in, meaning he couldn't use it. I had the same problem with Stormpaw (née Milkpaw). Then Jess and Bee threw out some other prefixes, and I ended up with Mintflower. Jess's suggestion if Ivyflower was very close, though
- One of his favorite pasttimes is finding turtles and watching them slow-crawl away. Yes, that's right. He likes turtle watching. He's never eaten one before, nor does he have any desire to, bc turtles are your friends. Be nice to them (he gets this from me lolol I've got a 20+ yr old turtle that my family has had before I was born, so Mint loves turtles, too!!
- He meticulously cleans his nests and always makes sure it's in pristine condition...can't return it if it's a mess, fam. He tries to do the same for his friends' nest, but they're messy cats, okay, and he is STRUGGLING
- While he works, he mutters under his breath, talking himself through battle moves or hunting practice...which isn't a good idea when hunting, by the way, because it turns out the prey will hear you and run away!
- He loves his friends so much. Like...I cannot even begin to explain how much he adores them
- His singing (did I say singing? I meant screeching) leaves a lot to be desired, but damn if that doesn't stop him from singing anyway
- Okay, but his massive crush on Antlerpaw was completely unplanned, until Vivi and I threw around the idea of him and Antlerpaw knowing each other before the journey, and then it totally snowballed from there. We didn't intend for them to develop crushes on each other, and it just happened during the roleplays
- One of his favorite words is "nOICE!" or he'll repeat words like Jake from Brooklyn 99 ("Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool" or "No doubt, no doubt, no doubt, no doubt" or "For sure, for sure, for sure, for sure") when he's nervous
- Another catchphrase is "this is the wORST!!!!" whenever anything bad happens, because he is very dramatic
I really miss them, but I know they wouldn't want me to be down! I hope all right and happy in SkyClan.
Both of my brothers stayed behind with my parents in SkyClan...I wish they had come with me. Here's to hoping they're okay, too. I wonder if I'll ever see them again.
She was a Daylight Warrior, so she remained in SkyClan so that she didn't have to leave her Twolegs (pooey, if you ask me...tsk), but she told me before we left that she would have come with us otherwise. She was a good mentor, if a bit harsh. I'll make sure to remember everything she taught me.
The way I felt about him was just infatuation, but I do miss him! Sometimes I wonder if it would have changed anything if I had confessed. Maybe she would have decided to join us if I had. Other cats had lesser reasons to leave, right? At least we parted on good terms.
Thank StarClan he came to SunClan with me, and he's the medicine cat now, no less!
Oh, yeah, Bluepaw's my bro! He's so small, but a little ball of spitfire sometimes -- especially when he gets on that shipping stuff. Apparently he shipped me and Silverpaw...? Called us SilverMints or something? Anyway, I love him a lot. He's so goofy sometimes and means well. I really, really wish Mudpaw would leave him alone, though.
Where there's Bluepaw, you'll find Stormpaw right there! She's his adopted sister, I think, even though we don't really hang out with each other unless he's there. Sometimes I think she gets really exasperated by him and his whole...nighttime moss routine stuff with the water, but I can tell she's fond of him, too. They're really close, and I'm a bit jealous that they have each other while my littermates aren't here, but it is what it is. I know I can go to her on a whim if I need to.
I'm not sure how many cats would agree, but if you ask me, Cricketpaw is the best! We met when we were put on the dawn patrol together one morning. At first, I admit I was a bit too grumpy to be polite and talk to her, and she was pretty quiet. Then a bird flew in my face and I fell on my tail. That somehow got the moss ball rolling and we started talking, and we (well, specifically, I) haven't stopped since. She's the only one who puts up with my fussing (I just can't help it!) and always listens to my rants. She also gives good advice, which is weird, because I know she's listening, but sometimes I just get so caught up in talking that I forget to let other cats actually answer me. I think others zone out, but not Cricketpaw. She always pays attention and has the patience of a saint! She's amazing.
Ugh...this mousebrain. He's always been to quick to fight for my liking, even if he keeps insisting it's about wanting to protect the Clan. I just can't imagine trusting anyone who likes to fight so much. Talking things out almost always works in my experience, but he seems to just want to throw himself into battle first and talk later. I also get the feeling that whenever I try to help him, he gets really annoyed. It's not my fault that his fur is always a mess, he doesn't change out the moss in his nest as often as he should, he insists on going to sleep really late (I keep telling him that he'll be too tired for training in the morning!), and he never wants to look presentable whenever Sunstar's around. You'd think our leader sometimes overlooking our training sessions would make you want to be on your best behavior and not act like a ruffian or buffon, right? Not according to Mudpaw! But apparently I'm the unreasonable one? Yeah, okay, sure. Whatever you say, Mudpaw.
To be honest, I don't get why the other apprentices (well...Stormpaw, in particular) talk about him as though he's the Dark Forest reincarnated into a single cat. He's aloof, I'll give you that, but I think he's harmless and just likes his peace and quiet, you know? I can't blame him for that. The apprentices' den can get a bit overwhelming, even on the best of days.
While I don't know him all that well (yet?), he taught me how to swim! I reckon he's pretty cool.
Since I'm pretty sure I'll be getting my full name any day now, there isn't much that Brightfaith can teach me, I think, that Shellfish hadn't already. She was already talking to Goldenstar about me taking my warrior assessment, but that's been delayed because of the journey and stuff, and then Sunstar assigned me to Brightfaith. We kinda just do our own thing, though, and haven't really interacted a lot. He's all right, I guess...? A lot of his lectures are about StarClan when we do talk, which is weird. I'm still not quite sure what to think about him.
What do I even say about Antlerpaw...oh, StarClan, am I blushing? We met on the journey to the new territory and he just...he looked so sad. I had to introduce myself (and besides that, he's really, really cute). Gradually, he seemed to cheer up. I'm not sure if I had anything to do with it, but it was great to see him smile, and he's just so lovely, you know? But...but he decided to go to MoonClan when the group split up. I feel kinda hurt, but at the same time, I chose SunClan rather than going to MoonClan for him, so I can't really judge. I'm not mad! Just upset, that's all, even though I'm trying not to be. While I know SunClan is the place for me, I miss him a lot, and I hate that we're apart. It's stupid to keep sneaking by MoonClan's border in the hopes that I'll see him...I just don't want to leave our friendship behind us. I hope he's doing okay and knows I haven't forgotten him. I've taken to leaving flowers on the border, so I think he'll know they're from me.
Ugh! I never learn, do I? In my defense, I never claimed to be the smartest cat, but with Fadepaw being Antlerpaw's brother, no less! Gahhh... ;v; I thought he was going to attack me when we met in that flower field, but he's far too sweet and friendly to ever do anything like that. It was so much fun hanging out with him and sunbathing, and then he told me about Bluewillow...I can't believe I made him cry! I felt like such a jerk for asking. He's such a sweetheart, though, and I think he hides it and tries to come off all big and tough. I love the nickname Sunshine that he gave me (even though I won't tell him that) and I call him Moonlight back. I was so scared that he might forget about me like Antlerpaw had, but he got pretty indignant and upset that I'd think that about him. He insisted that he wouldn't, and truth be told, I needed to hear that reassurance more than I thought. We promised to meet each other soon by the huge stone in the meadow, since I think I've figured out a way to communicate with him (and Antlerpaw?) without my Clanmates finding out. I...I can't wait to see him again.
