Profile
Personality:
Laid-back, Loony, Loyal, Logical, Loquacious (very talkative)
Benjamin is very dog, and will do anything to make his friends happy, even to his own detriment.
Summary (minimal biology):
In short, Benjamin is an extra planetary (accidental) fugitive masquerading as a friendly neighborhood dog in order to keep a low profile. He is an part dog-wolf thing, part mushroom.
He is dog, also talks a lot, also chill, and typically never mad.
Occupation: Dog, does dog things
Talents: large vocabulary, public speaking, very agile, collecting useless objects
Weaknesses:
> bad at Fetching, and most regular dog things
> Easily distracted by anything and everything
Other Traits:
> Head never empty
> Can sprout mushrooms from body (glowing, do not eat), can also remove without much issue
> Highly resistant to poison and disease
> Benjamin is not his birthname, but given by friends
More Biology:
Benjamin is a symbiotic relationship between two species:
> A wolf-dog like species form a different planet, species mostly genetically engineered, can transform into werewolf-like creatures when very enraged, or once a month. Usually amplifies aggression, though Benjamin isn't affected by this (if you multiply by zero, no matter what you will just get zero.)
> A sapient alien cordyceps fungi that lives in the brain and body and forms a symbiotic relationship between the host species (both benefit), the fungi gains protection and the host becomes sapient.
> the fruiting body (mushroom) can take multiple forms, be it a spike protrusion or the typical umbrella shape.
> Benjamin can only speak telepathically, like the rest of his species, this telepathy is only one way though, he cannot read minds.
Fun Fact:
In Benjamin's home planet, the fungi is the dominant organism, with almost all wildlife and various made sapient due to the symbiotic relationship with fungi. they however do not affect aliens ( ie: humans, etc).
This species is probably one evolutionary step behind forming a hive mind.
