Kiva works for the Osh family (The Chiefs of Apiailloin) She is good friends with their son, Kiawvay. Her main duties include, but are not limited, to watching over the beaches, teaching their cultural dances to the young, and teaching the right techniques to all sorts of things that they need to know in order to survive on the island. All of which were things the Chiefs taught her themselves. She is very hard-working and serious. Though, beneath her tough exterior, she is incredibly caring.
