Has an icy cold expression constantly and many think he is hard to get along with. Despite that he gathers quite a bit of attention of many extroverts and Pokémon alike. While he might not say much, he is very communicative through other gestures. Only is vocal when angry though, don't call him Joy because he'll instantly hate you.
Third cousins to a line of nurse joys who aren't as well off as the others. His parents tried to force him into the health field from a very young age to try and fix their financial situation. When he turned 12 he registered as a trainer, dropped out of school, and ran away. He has not contacted his parents or close family since.
Due to growing up in poverty he has issues spending money on himself and always tries to bargain.
