Rowan can be a rather awkward person when talking to new people and, despite his status as an heir to a family business, he tends to be a bit shy and quiet. Rowan is also extremely kind, though, and deeply cares for most of his family (his step-mother is a... complicated issue). His kindness causes him to worry over all of them for different reasons, and he feels lucky to have Lexi around to help ease his worries some.
Rowan is aware of his step-mother's disdain for him, but he often tries to bond with her when he can find the opportunity despite knowing it's probably hopeless. He feels as if he owes it to his father to try, but also believes his father would be better off without her too. He feels as if much of his families issues are caused by his step-mother, but isn't sure how to bring it up to his father.
Rowan is the first child in his family and the only sibling to have a different mother. When he was young his mother died in a tragic accident leaving him and his father on their own. Rowan remembers his father being very kind and a good parent back then, but he was also very lonely after the accident. This lonliness made him an easy target for his step-mother who clearly cared more for the money compared to anything else. His father hastily got into another marriage (Rowan suspects to stop the lonliness and pressure to give Rowan a mother), but as soon as his step-mother had her first child (Zephyr) her disdain for Rowan grew. Even from a young age he knew his step-mother didn't like him for the simple fact that he was not her own child.
Although Rowan's step-mother didn't treat her children, Zephyr and Sabrina, with contempt she also never made an attempt to bond with them. On her instance both she and their father were almost always away leaving the three siblings in the hands of maids and caretakers. Rowan stepped up to take care of his younger siblings, which has given them a strong bond even to this day. Back then, though, Rowan did notice that his step-mother often placed a lot of pressure on Zephyr to be the star child. She wanted him to be her idea of perfect and to eventually take the role of heir. She also placed a lot of pressure on Sabrina as well, but mostly to be the perfect daughter. When the time came Rowan accepted the role of heir from his father (despite not wanting to do it in the slightest) in order to spare Zephyr from it.
Because of Rowan accepting the role from his father he was enrolled in a higher education school to learn what he needed. There he would eventually meet Lexi, also majoring in business, who seemed to have much more of a knack and interest for it. They became close friends after a project together (Rowan not having many friends before then) and he eventually shared with her some of the problems he was having. It started out as Lexi helping Rowan out, and offering to work for him whenever he took over, but after spending much more time together the two started dating and, eventually, became engaged. Much to his step-mother's disapproval.
Rowan often worries for Zephyr since he tends to get into trouble. He's carefree and doesn't seem to think twice about getting into danger, so Rowan finds he has to hold himself back and try not to restrain his brother too much.
Although not as eager to get into danger, Sabrina has a sharp tongue which means she makes enemies pretty easily. Rowan worries about her not making many friends or getting herself into trouble, but finds she can often handle herself.
Rowan's fiance he met while going to school. Lexi makes up for a lot of his faults (being bad at business for one) and helps him handle his siblings, but she often likes to have fun and tease him too.
