As a child, the Poke was often hidden away by his parents- not because they weren't proud of him, but due to his mutation; albinism is a desirable trait amongst poachers. However, adoring his beach based home, he soon managed to slip past his parents, and one day fell into an unfortunate situation. Backed against a cliff he found himself at the sharp end of a machete, and soon fell victim to it- his mother, hearing his pleading cries, soon rushed to his aide and threw the poacher off him, however the damage was done, leaving the Popokee with lifelong scars. 

Growing up he became introverted and unwilling to be amongst others, should another try and hunt him for his snowy hide. Only appearing on cloudy days, to avoid sunburn, others who spied him thought he was a ghostly apparition and he gained the title 'Cryptid of the Coast' and others would soon try to seek him out, intruding on his home within the coastlines caverns. Unwanted, these intrusions soon caused him to find a more secretive home, his nervousness only increasing as others approached him. 

Whilst his parents grew concerned by his solidarity and unwillingness to linger around the human populous, they knew he found comfort within the sea, and Finn would often spend days diving beneath the briny blue waves, soon making an acquaintance upon a small island off the shore- a friendly fishing dragon named Fryde who soon began to enlist in his help- as a fisherdragon she made business catching and selling fish, and she was looking for an apprentice to help her.
