Occulus is an 'undesirable' of his sort being spineless according to lore so this makes him very shy, not shy in the way that he blushes and ugus at everyone from the corner, but rather maybe a better explanation is keeps to himself unless he's approached. He can be abrasive if he figures that the aproachee is there to make fun of him or there to stare at his lack of spines, but overall once he realizes someone is there for long term he can be a very loyal if not a little bit discerning friend.

He has a lot of very morbid hobbies like collecting bones of creatures to put together with invisible string to make new animal skeletons.
