Occupation: None - in hiding
Personality: Abri has turned to escapism to try and push her suffocating worries away. She dreads being seen by others or that some sort of vigilantly gang will come after her and her husband, but she tries just to not think about it. She aims for peace and frivolous happiness like the couple used to have many years ago. She's the more business-like of the couple and used to handle much of the management-based things before they fled. She likes to think of herself as not easily shaken, but with such a great weight on her shoulders...it's hard to say she's felt brave in a long time. Still, she tries not to think about it. It's her greatest weapon, not thinking about it
Physical Description: /

History: Abri grew up with her parents who lived in an isolated building in a swamp with little nearby contact besides alligator and frog-people. Life was mostly worry-free, as they were very nearly self-sustaining. Abri loved playing in the water, gardening with her parents, and bringing home a constant stream of cool-looking rocks. When she grew old enough, she decided she would build her own house in the vicinity, with which her parents helped. She was somewhat closer to a forest, but still in reach of her family. One day, she encountered a traveler (perhaps an escapee) collapsed in the mud, looking like he was within an inch of his life. Shocked, Abri drug him inside her house and did her best to tend to him. She feared she'd soon have a corpse in her home that she'd have to deal with, but the man managed to wake. He told her his name was Griffin and that he needed to hide from something. Abri, confident in her secure location, persuaded him to stay instead of risk hurting himself further. He seemed restless, but he was also exhausted, so he agreed. Abri wasn't sure how quickly this temporary arrangement would end, so she continued about life as normal. After a while, she had to make her guest a better fake-bedroom, as he didn't seem so set on leaving anymore. Griffin fell in love with Abri's easy life (and perhaps more). He helped her around the home and she taught him what was needed to survive on one's own. She got so far as to begin preparing the idea of building him a house of his own before he confessed his feelings towards her, making the concept null. Abri was stunned, as she'd never really imagined finding a partner, but she didn't say no.

Later on, the two of them were married. They lacked someone to speak to the gods for them, so they simply didn't preform the full service. Later still, they decided to have children. Their first and second made them very happy, but there was something wrong with the third... Dieter, their youngest, seemed to be very ill. They had little knowledge of ailments that didn't revolve around the swamp, so they were terrified and baffled as to what had become of him. They did their best to ease him towards recovery, but he did no such thing. It was as if he was possessed, both frail and a spitting whirlwind of claws. And when he didn't try to cut them, he'd cry. It wasn't a strong, healthy cry. It was more of a forlorn wheeze with half-open eyes. Neither parent wanted to travel to a more significant civilization, but they had little choice. Preparing their other two children for the journey, they set off to find a hospital that could help them

Initially, doctors didn't know what was wrong with Dieter. He was difficult in visits, often not showing symptoms described. Although it wasn't what the wanted, the small family had to rent a home in the city in order to stay nearby. They had almost no money, which made the sudden lifestyle change very difficult. Instead of seeing an occupation, they tried to stay true to their roots, scavenging for food and making due. Free healthcare allowed them to keep making appointments for Dieter, but things were getting more serious. Family members were getting deep gashes as a result of his temper tantrums and, despite his young age, he'd started to take a disturbing interest in the gutting of animals. Abri and Griffin often had to try and keep him away from the other children and themselves for their own safety, which included sectioning off a portion of the house for him to run rampant in. Eventually, in a near-disastrous hospital visit where Dieter made an attempt on a nurse's life and escaped down a hallway in a rampage before being caught, he earned his diagnosis of Fermented Mentality. Regretfully, no cure had been found. The hospital could administer injections to keep him pleasant (if not a bit loopy), but the family would need to remain nearby at the frequency he'd need to get them

At this point in time, the family already had a fairly impressive garden they'd made trying to feed themselves, so needing to stay was more of a morale hit than a problem. Still, Abri and her husband tried to stay strong. They built themselves up and sent their older two children off to school when they could. She and Griffin would sometimes pick up small jobs that required manual labor in exchange for money for clothes and the like. Their garden grew far too large, so they'd often give away the food to their neighbors for free. That and their pleasant nature earned them many friends in the neighborhood which would often lend a hand to help them when they were in need. With Dieter more lucid thanks to his treatment, it was almost easy to carry on (and not having to hide him away was a huge relief). Abri and Griffin quickly adapted, as moping over their old home did nothing for them

Things were okay for a while. Their older two kids grew up and tried to figure out how jobs worked. Meanwhile, Dieter learned that he could skip out of his shots for a more pleasant solution: alcohol. He turned to crime simply for the fun of it and used the money to pay off the doctor to keep them from saying anything. For a while, he kept this a secret, but he soon realized his family could make good use of the money, too! They'd never been well off. Wasn't it about time? His entire family was mortified upon his reveal of what he'd been doing in his spare time, but he wasn't deterred and continued to offer. This pushed his siblings out of the house, as they suddenly became quite eager to get a job and move on. Meanwhile, his parents began to get horribly paranoid, as they couldn't dissuade him from a life of crime. They were sure their neighbors were picking up on it, giving them sideways glances and plotting to call the Guardians

Abri tried to hang around to support Dieter and try to change him for as long as she could. She was able to hold out longer than her husband, but as soon as Dieter decided he would roam around the country stealing and killing whomever he pleased, she'd had enough. The couple packed up almost overnight and fled back to the swamp where they used to live. However, their old home didn't seem so safe anymore. The locals knew where it was. They had to be hidden better. Abri and Griffin retreated deep into the forest until they thought they would be nigh impossible to find. There, they built a second house and began to live in hiding, dreading being caught as the parents of a killer
