Cyris is an eatharyian journalist who seems to have survived the end of the world twice, and naturally, he is just as frustratingly confused about that as anyone- eatharyian or otherwise- would be.
In his past he was wholly unremarkable, a background character to far greater events, but it seems that the powers that be had other plans, and in this case, said powers came in the form of Questeria. In the wake of the destruction of his people's civilization, he was given a second chance by Questeria, the information coming to him in the form of a hazy dream. Cyris failed to warn his people and the event happened anyway. However, he was spared by Tsoras's warping of fate, given yet another second chance to live on earth. With this new life he managed to regain himself, though never without fully shaking off the unjust sense of guilt that plagued him. Cyris gradually becomes a minor internet celebrity, and even befriends individuals such as Rebecca, Eris, and Michael Thomas himself. The events that shape his story merely touch the far more influential tales of others, yet in so many cases his actions could have changed everything. Whether he ever had a chance to write history, or if the universe was always meant to be scripted that way, is but one unanswerable question that may very well forever linger with him.

Appearance 

Cyris is white and possesses a wholly unimpressive build, being neither especially strong nor agile, yet also not particularly unhealthy either. He stands at roughly 5'5" and appears somewhat lean.

Cyris's hair is a deep brown hue with the occasional silver strand. It's cut relatively short in a standard style but is most recognizable by a single silver curl purposely styled to be somewhat out of place; though in all honesty that curl tries to stay out of place without any outside help.

His eyes are purple.

**Cyris is essentially an eatharyian hipster; his designs lack a lot of the accessories and asymmetry that most others are just chocked full of. This may partially be due to his income and spending habits, but a good deal of it comes from enjoying the simpler designs, wanting to stand out, and desiring to possess an appearance that may better express his occupation- with this sort of getup he definitely looks like some sort of poet, author, or internet food connoisseur. [Or perhaps that's just me.]

Usual Attire[?]: **The outfit that he often wears during the winter and autumn on Eatharyia and what he wears during his initial appearance on earth- He wears a slightly asymmetrical collared button up shirt [**Design this future me!] under his light brown coat. This coat is relatively long, can button up, and has clearly seen better days; it could be described as well worn, rather than old. It has large outside pockets, as well as a single inside pocket on the left side. The material is water proof/ resistant, yet remains somewhat soft to the touch. Despite not being too thick the coat insulates heat well while remaining relatively cool in warmer weather. In addition to his coat, Cyris wears some pants- these appear to be made of a jean-like material, but in actuality, the material is a bit different. The pants are also water resistant because why not. His shoes are semi-formal and either brown or black. The highlights of his design, however, are his red framed glasses and signature scarf. The glasses actually provide a use, and function similar to Google Glass. His scarf is quite long, purposely so, and colored a deep green color with shimmery, metallic copper lines that squiggle slightly. The scarf is not water resistant.

Short sleeved outfit: **An alternate design for warmer weather, or for work- He wears his usual red glasses, a various variety of pants, and a collared button up shirt; the shirt is the main design aspect, as it has some sort of pattern or asymmetrical design.

Attire [Earth]

[~2015-~201X]:Cyris tends to wear button up shirts, usually white and always long sleeved, with jeans or khakis. He wears his broken glasses until he gets/ is given a new pair; the same is true for his scarf when the weather allows. He still wears semi-formal shoes. He occasionally wears his old coat, but by now he has gathered new ones and will wear some of those when the weather allows it; these coats tend to be brown or tan, and quite long, though their specific designs can vary.

He refuses to wear shorts, so will still wear either jeans or khakis. He still tries to wear long sleeves shirts, but if the weather really demands it, he will wear a short sleeved button up shirt.

Scarves: By now Cyris has made a bit of a name for himself online and the very first gift from a fan that he received was a hand knitted scarf. This sparked a bit of a tradition; fans would send in scarves and for each of his videos he would wear a different one and often give a shout out to whoever made the one he was wearing. He will even wear some of these gift scarves when out and about. 

 Personality

Pessimistic, unpredictable, tricky to intimidate... a bit nervous... seems to have much of these new negative traits a possibility, but it all quickly worsened... Tends to argue with himself, either very divided or very confident...

Somewhat daydreamy, often getting distracted by thoughts and random ideas.. tends to either overthink a situation or run right into it... borders being introverted, but isn't quite...he becomes a little more paranoid... essentially, minor negatives in her personality were accentuated after coming to earth... A hint of being paranoid.

Belief System: Cyris considers himself a believer of the eatharyian Looping Fate Theory of Existence, in which the universe is described as being stuck in a perpetual loop, meaning that all that has or will happen is predestined.

In regards to the question of "is there meaning to existence?" Cyris leans more towards any and all meaning being derived from the individual. But even then, does it really matter if there is meaning or not? No matter what, the universe will loop, and life will go on, so meaning in itself is something of a pointless fact to ponder.

Voice and Dialogue

Ordinarily, Cyris speaks pretty competently, with a decent vocabulary and only the occasional slang, but the overall tone of his speech can vary greatly depending on the emotion behind it. When nervous, embarrassed, anxious or worried he tends to pause in between words or stutter to gather his thoughts. It is quite noticeable and can easily give away his intentions. Like the other eatharyians he does not use placeholder terms such as “Um”, “Uh” “Err” etc., but instead will simply pause to think, even in confident speech. As for when he is overly confident, or angry, his tone becomes very pronounced and confident, with fewer pauses, but then he risks messing up a word and getting a bit off track, resulting in more frustration. When upset, or reminiscent, he tends to speak in a low tone with pauses in between words, making his mood very apparent. With all forms of his speech, he tends to be very animated, with hand gestures, pacing, or fidgeting depending on his mood and content of his dialogue. He has the tendency to use the term "folks" when referring to people, even if it is not the most fitting word to use.

Online, Cyris refuses to use shortened versions of words, and always tries to use correct punctuation and grammar.

"I suppose...I’m not exactly too...together..? I’ll just admit it, I do stupid shit sometimes, really, really stupid- well, maybe I shouldn’t actually be using profanity here- so, I will admit to that….” -From an RP, an example of Cyris when he isn't too confident.

Habits

• He hoards supplies such as water and canned foods, just in case.
• When nervous he will adjust his scarf or glasses, as well as fidget with his sleeves, pen, or whatever else may be around.
• When especially stressed or indecisive Cyris will argue with himself, either mentally or vocally.

• Making internet videos, but this later becomes his occupation. He also frequents a Twitter-like social media.

Two harps: He bought the first one for a video, but found that it was awful. So he bought a second one and now has two harps in his living room- one may have become a background item for where he films his videos. [I could also see there being some sort of inside joke revolving around the harps.]

A Computer: A desktop attached to two monitors. It's pretty nice. Cyris uses his own pictures taken from his town in Washington as background most of the time.

Quinn's Knife: A knife gifted to Cyris from Quinn- included in the deal were lessons on how to sue the thing. Possessing a functional weapon can be a real boost to one's confidence, who could have guessed! Although after 2023M Cyris no longer arms himself with the gift, he still owns it- the knife is tucked away with some of his possessions from eatharyia. For whatever reason, he simply doesn't have the heart tot throw it out, and perhaps keeps it as a reminder of the past.

Smartphone: Cyris was easily dragged into the trend of owning the latest and greatest Syred smartphone. His is always in a case but still manages to somehow have at least one scratch.

"Learned how to play the harp... was interested in marine biology for a while due to what his favorite animal was... [2015] Cyris arrives...Lylith gets his stuff arranged, gets a simple job form the global government... eventually gets new glasses... [201X-....bleh] Starts up his social media stuff...  Becomes a bigger thing on social media, namely youtube quits his job working under the global government for that- he keeps in touch with this one agent in his town- gets his first fan sent scarf... Buys two harps for use in a video or two, keeps them around- one of them is broken and/ or hard to tune/ play. Meets Rebecca, Eris, and Greg in his "Vengeance" plot arc... Then the timeline splits..." 

Cyris landed a job as a journalist, and although it wasn't the most desirable job in the world, there were times that Cyris found genuine enjoyment in it. The job gave him practice with writing and research, which was useful to his personal writing projects.

His whole story is built upon missed possibilities. Need more examples of it, though. And a definable "seal."

["Seal:" His decisions continually potentially split timelines- Killing Myxuki would have... uh... she did something important, didn't she!? Gave access too Hyenzei to Valgets, perhaps enabling minor fixes which allowed it to remain fictional up till space? No, cuz Hyenezie is required to fulfill Eryx and Kiron's seals...
His interactions with Rebecca/ Michael might have potentially affected something. Imagine if he indirectly kept Michael form getting killed which would have seriously affected so much stuff. Like, he saves Rebecca which keeps Michael form doing a dumb thing...
Maaaybe, write in a slim chance for him to have helped reveal the whole genocide plan?? he wouldn't have realized it, but... It would fit his theme of opportunities.]

Earth 

Showed up, stole a gun [apparently]... managed to wander his way into Soulska's woods?... Shot Myxuki, cuz I mean, he was kind of upset... Lylith, teach him some goddamn English!

 Author's notes

• I find Cyris to be a pretty interesting character due to the occasional lack of predictability; sometimes I just need to make rolls for how he acts. This has resulted in some silly outcomes, including snapping at another character who was just trying to make a joke [Which ended up with hat same character rolling multiple 20s for in how good of a mood they are in, so they ended up buying Cyris a pizza despite the outburst.], and pulling a knife out on a guy who just bumped into him [which lead to Cyris and Quinn basically getting tricked into going to the back of a restaurant and getting threatened. pro-tip; don't threaten people who are allied with Quinn.]
• Cyris interacting with Aaneq would be great. The two would start talking about the nature of existence in their usual pessimistic way until Rebecca and Ythrill get them to knock it off.
• I... I don't think he ever does anything actually important. He always just... almost does?
• In my play through if Miitopia, Cyris played the role of a valiant yet cautious fighter*. He actually ended up being one of my favorite party members, and definitely put in some effort out there.

Creation

• Like many of my beloved characters, Cyris was created as just some nobody, but gradually became a beloved- though admittedly unimportant- character.

• I'll happily accept alterations or alternate clothing designs for him; especially a warmer weather design. His general demeanor and expression can vary, but a thoughtful expression holding some mystery to it fits him well.

• Discord: I relate this entire song with the whole eatharyia-plot thing, and Cyris is a relatively notable player in that, so, therefore, he gets linked to this song too.
• Anxieties: I associate this song and many other of The Landing's music with the eatharyians. One line in particular is associated with Cyris:
