Although he's a bit jaded and may come off a little gruff, he really does enjoy helping newbies turn their spark of excitement into a long-lasting love for scuba. The sense of serenity and wonder he gets from being underwater is surpassed only by watching the sunrise every day with his husband Walter, fresh coffee in hand. Because the beach is his home and his work, he does what he can to protect the wildlife and keep it clean, happy to volunteer at local events and give educational talks about the beautiful ocean ecosystem.

Background
Beckett has loved the sea his entire life. He spent his days as a kid running around exploring the tide pools near his home, and went on to study marine biology. (Some more stuff I still need to write down happened.) He's retired from research now. Because the beach is his home and his work, he does what he can to protect the wildlife and keep it clean, happy to volunteer at local events and give educational talks about the beautiful ocean ecosystem.
