Species: Kalotermes Flavicollis (yellow necked drywood termite)
Abilities:
Digging: like the termite, Ian’s jaws and nails are perfectly designed to tunnel and burrow through materials.
Detection: worker termites are generally blind, and thus have a heightened sense of hearing and smell. He can detect slight vibrations and pheromones with great precision, making him hyper aware of his surroundings.
Minor abilities:
- Hive Mentality: termite colonies have the ability to function almost as one seamless entity. Ian being a solo termite does not have a hive, but instead has incredible group skills, and is adept at determining what functions he must serve.
Ultimate defense mechanisms:
Transitional Wings: Ian has the ability to grow a set of wings and use them for short periods of time before shedding them, just as some species of termites do when relocating to new colonies.
Vice Grip: his jaws have the ability to grow rapidly in size to maximize his bite force, able to clamp them shut at speeds nearing 150 mph.
