Introduction

Pokit (pronounced: “paw-kit”, or “pocket”) is a strange and monstrous little creature with an affliction causes them to shift into different forms when their adrenaline runs high. They are both a mascot and a fursona.
About
Pokit takes the default form of a fox-dog hybrid which is otherwise normal in appearance, save for an unsettlingly fangy face, wide mouth, and disproportionately large claws. When Pokit’s adrenaline spikes and their emotions spiral out of control, both positive or negative, Pokit will shift into a monster with huge teeth and claws and a knack for wreaking havoc. They are most commonly drawn in anthro form, which can also be depicted on all fours with the same proportions, or they can be drawn as fully quadruped.
Normal Form
Pokit's normal form is outwardly quite reserved, but their sassy, spirited, and loving personality is quick to jump out once they warm up to someone. They are the personification of optimism and perseverance, although they have a tendency to overreact, both positively or negatively. They are given to abrupt behaviour changes and erratic mood swings which they carefully try to manage to avoid uncontrolled shifting of their forms, though this is not always successful.
Pokit is eccentric, erratic, and often out-of-sorts with their head in the clouds, but otherwise has a mellow yellow and relaxed demeanour. They are honest to the point they can be inappropriately blunt or rude at times without meaning to. Additionally, they can come across as aloof due to their introspective and private nature, and are often hesitant to open up and truly connect with others due to their afflictions, even when they really want to. Still, they are always friendly and warm towards anyone they meet, and are of the moral framework that if they have the capability to help someone, they will. Pokit may act rambunctious and tough, but in reality they are a huge softie and sap, and believe wholeheartedly in the goodness of others and the world.
Monster Form
Pokit’s monster form is a far larger and stronger version of themself, capable of grand physical feats at the cost of significantly reduced mental capabilities.
Monster Pokit is more confident and outgoing, but also impulsive, erratic, and moody. Monster Pokit is instinctively destructive and sensory driven, and loves to bite, chew, and rip things apart with its overwhelming strength. Much like a cat, if they see a precariously perched object, they will knock it over. Despite being hardwired to cause mischief and mayhem, monster Pokit can be very gentle; all its remaining critical thought processes are directed towards staying mindful towards the comfort level of others around them, and they are careful not to harm others or their prized possessions. Pokit is unable to shift back into their normal form until all the Monster’s boundless energy has been spent.
In times of great distress, Monster Pokit will transform into Berserk Pokit, an entirely feral and destructive beast which lacks the ability to speak or understand speech. Despite its name, appearance, and frenzied behaviour, Berserk Pokit is typically not violent towards others. Before it fully transforms, it will typically instinctively run out into the wilderness where it can be sure it will not harm anyone else until it transforms back. It is strong enough that it could easily hurt someone without intending to, and is best to be avoided until it calms down.

META
Yellow version Pokit was my main fursona for the bulk of 2013 when I was fifteen and sixteen years old, though there were other prior versions of the character in 2012. Pokit was retired as my fursona at the end of 2013, and then revived again as a mascot and secondary fursona ten years later at the end of 2023. Pokit is not a 1:1 parallel of myself in the way that Folken or Spencer are, and instead represents the best version of myself I am capable of being.
When revamping Pokit in the modern day, their character has mostly been built off of the earlier vision of Pokit who was saturated, scraggly, and fangy, rather than the softer and diluted Pokit when they were retired. While the original Pokit was quite anxious and socially avoidant, modern Pokit has been adjusted to have gone through the appropriate character development over time, and displays far more confidence and sociability than their younger self.
Pokit lives in my Sonameta universe with my other personal characters. While they are capable of interacting with any of my other fursonas, they mostly live apart.

Trivia
- Pokit is androgynous and has no defining sex characteristics. They are happy to wear any type of gendered clothing, and respond to just about any pronouns.
- In all forms, Pokit has a strong oral fixation and loves to bite. They will chew on anything and everything. It is important for them to have ample enrichment chew toys to avoid destructive gnawing or impulsively snapping at anything that gets too close to their mouth.
- Pokit files down their claws daily in their normal form to look less intimidating, but they grow back by the next day.
- They are obsessed with candy and other sweet treats. Monster Pokit will happily shovel pawful upon enormous pawful of candy into its mouth. It especially loves colourful candies, and can easily crush jawbreakers between its jaws into a fine sugary dust.
- Pokit is the character who is most like a prototype to Folken despite being succeeded by Toulouse before him. The yellow version of Pokit was created in January 2013, but the character has been around since mid 2012.
