oh boy, its my "humanitarian" mermaid!! (i used that word wrong. i guess the best i can say is that she eats people.)

the idea for akuma came from seeing that fake mermaid documentary, mermaids: a body found. i was inspired so i just made her, but make her violent.

fun fact, the stuff on her head is seaweed put on with a special paste!

Name: Akuma Ningo, means Demon Mermaid in Japanese, and that is what they stated calling her as she was first sighted near Japan as fisherman started going missing. The name was adopted for her over in the States as well. This amuses her. (Do note that this isn't her real name, her real name is unknown.)
Her species of mermaid lives in the deepest depths of the ocean, which is why her eyes are huge. They are all born bald and can't grow hair, so for fun they use a special paste they make and basically "glue" seaweed onto their heads. The glue doesn't last long, so their "hairstyle" changes a lot.
She prays on humans, and steals them out of boats by grabbing them while they are on the edge or jumping out and knocking them into the water. Some of her kind just call her "The Great Boat Jumper". She also loves the taste of dolphins, but has them rarely.  She can vocalize in a human voice, but her singing is terrible, so she just lures people in by talking to them.
