Profile
Personality; Margot is a legendary class capable of human thought and speech. She’s snappy, bitter and doesn’t trust anybody. She doesn’t like other leeches and will try to threaten them off her turf, but she’d rarely try to harm them if they take the hint and leave. She has a few leeches she “enjoys” the company of, mainly her assistant Pru, a leech that adapted and became immune to her decay and has followed her trail ever since he was a tadpole.
While she can put up with other leeches, Margot HATES human beings and will sooner eat an intruder than try to have a conversation with them. If humans want to contact her, they’d have better luck relaying messages through letters/parcels attached to Pru.
Lore;
Born and raised in a lab, as a “guinea leech” she went through frequent freak experiments. Even as a normal leech Margot’s hatred for human beings festered as she watched her siblings writhe in pain. When it was her turn, the chemicals she was injected with caused every cell in her body to burn. She couldn’t tell how long she was in pain and by the time she lost any ability to feel anything her organs have become thoroughly mangled and charred.
Fascinated by her ability to survive the ordeal, the scientists observed her through the mutation process. They’ve been researching the adaptive mutation leech monsters are capable of for a long time, but it’s incredibly rare for adaptive mutation to kick in- especially in already developed leech pups.
At first her mutation was classified as “slime body”- probably her body’s attempt to regenerate the damaged cells. Her teeth and horns have overgrown into odd shapes, but the mutation that interested the scientists the most were her sudden growth spurts- one of the warning signs for when a leech is turning legendary class.
Soon it was clear that they underestimated Margot. Using the combination of her huge size, heightened intelligence and new unpredictable powers, she escaped her confinement and destroyed every trace of the lab and everyone in it. The freshly turned legendary had a counter measure for anything that was thrown her way, she had a long time to plot the details of her revenge.
Once out she made her home in the primordial wetlands. The primordial wetlands are a huge biome which used to be teeming with leech monsters. It’s said to be the specie’s place of origin millions of years ago, but these days leeches thrive practically anywhere on the planet. The primordial wetlands are a highly spiritual place and Margot manipulates the spiritual energy, using her own special flowers to create potions and magic.
Margot’s powers of decay and bloom turned the swamp she lives in into a deadly flower garden. The flowers mark her territory, and everyone knows to stay away because that’s where the Bog’s Miasma lurks.
