A tired Spatial Anthropology Grad Student with a Language & Communications Degree and uncouth interest in Cybernetics, education was supposed to be Tris's path to a well-earned life among the stars, even if Navigation itself proves to be beyond her reach as a single Currenthian.

However she's currently put that path on pause and her future respectability on the line, letting herself be "kidnapped" along on a treasure/glory hunt across the universe with Dessa, "F.R.E.D.", and the crew of the Nacrenova... currently the most notorious ship in the skies. It's captain, The Pirate Queen Leolyn, seems as enchanted by Tris as Tris is enraptured by her as they find common threads between them despite their vastly dissimiliar lives. With the free days of summer ticking away, Tris finds herself increasingly torn between her two families, her two paths, and herself.

Tris has the appearance of an average Currenthian... average height, average build, non-distinct morphology, two dorsal fins, shades of blue, mid-length eska... its enough to drive her crazy. Lately, she's been dressing a bit more distinctly, and has a acquired a fin piercing (a bit taboo for a Currenthian) where she keeps the purple-garnet studded ring Leo has given her. Clothes wise, she typically wears looser pants and tighter tops, leaving her arms and neck uncovered. She favors rusty orange-reds and metalic accents when she's trying to draw attention.

Smart, Witty, and sliding between Silly and Sardonic with her mercurial moods. Observant and oftimes Quick-to-Judge. Tris is Academic-minded, Education her chosen tool to self-actualization and meter of her self-worth. She's determined to be taken seriously and to understand the vast world she wishes to escape to, so she plans and studies, watches and waits for what few oppurtunities she can find, and grabs them when she can. She cares deeply for her family, even as she rebels against the societal constructs that they represent, and these opposing desires make for a tumultuous heart.

Out of water, she's found herself floundering. Everything is harder, hurts, and is more difficult. People don't have colors and they're harder to read. The instability has led to an excess of caution as she navigates a world suddenly much more deadly than she realized. Her preparations have prooven inadequate and the frustration of figuring out how to relearn life above the surface is stressing her out nearly as much as realizing she didn't fit into the life that was laid out for her below it.

Amphibious, in the sense that they can breathe both in and out of water. Theyre suited more to open saltwater seas than any other environment, accomplished swimmers capable of withstanding fair amounts of pressure, cold, and environmental contaminants. They're equipped with emotive-bioluminescence along their lateral lines, and a concentrated node of light on their Eska. They don't have noses to smell with, but can taste changes in the water on their more sensitive membranes.

There are six major morphs, each with their own defensive mechanisms: Tric, Tox, Tint, Spike, Puff, and Gen. Tric morphs have exceptional control over their electromagnetic fields, and are able to discharge electricity. Tox morphs secrete toxins. Tint morphs have expanded on their natural camoflauging to control their bodies colors and patterns. Spike morphs are covered in thick plate-like patches, hard spikes, and needle-like spines. Puff morphs can rapidly expand their volume. And Gen morphs have heightened healing and can regenerate their appendages, skilled ones can even grow their limbs into unique and novel forms.
