Velyre ultimately wants to do the right thing. Regardless of what she might claim or say, she is quick to stick up for those she believes need help.

About

A vespire from Banelaire, Velyre can usually be seen doing one of three things: eating, napping, or sulking. She hasn't quite found her place in the world, and she gets by doing various odd jobs for the Strata of Ebenshir. Crabby and wary of strangers, she's not the easiest to get along with. Those who do earn her friendship, however, find her a loyal friend.

Family

Born at the Lucid Altar, Velyre looks almost exactly like a typical vespire. The only things that give her lineage away are her double set of wings and her cheek marks. Indeed, her mother is half-pouflon--and traces her own lineage back to the Pennon of Aventre. Velyre's father, on the other hand, is a proud vespire of the Strata of Ebenshir. She has always struggled a bit with her identity, justified or not--she tends to feel like she is a bit of a misfit wherever she goes.

During Skyfall, she spent much of her time growing up with her mother's family, roaming the halls of their (possibly haunted) mansion. As a teen and young adult, she often visited friends around Riddlelock and Goldfair. These days, however, she rarely leaves the Ebony Wreath.

Friends

When an illness threatened to take the life of her best friend, Velyre made a secret bargain to save him. Her end of the bargain was that she must never see him again--and to ensure that she never breaks that promise, she cut all contact with both her friend and their mutual friends. She has remained cold and isolated since.
