 Sweebeasts are an open species that were created by Raynbow September 12th, 2019!

Special thanks to Eros_pouri! I was inspired by the way they drew Sweebeasts and applied it to their revamped look :> Their new default ear shape is also a reference to the way I drew Confonster ears when the species was new

Disclaimer

There is an Instagram species that looks similar and are even called Sweetbeasts (with a t), I didn’t find out about them until much later. The concept of candy monsters is common so I wasn’t too surprised but I hope that doesn’t discourage you from my take on it! ^^

1.) Refrain from making Sweebeasts look too much like Confonsters. They have vastly different anatomy from one another

✦ Large, bulky/chonk anatomy

~ They are slightly larger than bears and weigh up to 550 lbs or more. Their body consists of a lot of muscle but also fat, mostly around their belly and hands/feet

✦ Long & thick claws

~ The main parts of their body that are made of candy material are their claws, horns, and spikes (if any). These features are always a candy material even if it’s not stated for a character. The material is most commonly smooth, hard/durable, a bit translucent, and glossy

✦ Large tapering hands and feet

✦ Other sweet features

~ They may also have other features such as natural drizzles, whipped cream, waffle limbs, and so on. They must have at least one candy feature and their claws/horns count towards that

✦ Egg shaped head with slit nostrils

~ They have relatively sharp and thick teeth, their canines being the longest. Their top and/or bottom canines often protrude from their mouth

✦ Short mammalian ears and tail

✦ Fur tufts

~ Sweebeasts will always have at least two fur tufts on their body just like Confonsters, mostly commonly on the tips of their ears and tail

✻ Basic Info/Facts ✻

✦ When angered their sclera will change to the color of their candy material and pupils become slits

✦ Their running style is a gallop as their large paws thud against ground. This sound can instill fear in any Confonster!

✦ There does exist a Sweebeast hunter job or for any dangerous predators for that matter. If a Sweebeast is too reckless it can be tranquilized or even killed to keep citizens safe

✦ Any clothing they wear would've been applied by a Confonster. But when they do come across something they like such flowers, they may stick them in random places on their fur for the fun of it

✦ Friendly Sweebeasts can't roam in cities unattended and are required to have a military grade harness by law

✦ They can have a job such as helping with construction and gardening though their reward tends to be food, not currency

❉ Reproduction ❉

There are males and females and they reproduce sexually

Most reproduce only twice in their lifetime. A female Sweebeast can lay 1-3 eggs at a time. They are big, heavy, and teardrop shaped. Some eggs it takes two Confonsters to be able to carry. They are often glossy and candy colored with designs such as swirls. These designs can correspond with how the baby inside will look. Between mates, the father is known to leave the family while the mother stays and cares for their young. Though if they do stay that means they have a strong bond

  They are nomads and usually don't build a permanent home. But when a female knows she's pregnant she will make a small nesting area where she will rest most of the time until the eggs are laid. It takes half or up to a month until the eggs hatch and in that time she'll incubate them in her pouch. A newly born Sweebeast has fur and is able to see, and it doesn’t take long before they can move on their own. When mobile often the babies will ride on their mom, usually the pouch if they are still small enough. Once the babies are matured they can separate or stay with their mom. There has been Sweebeasts documented before where their mom

They can live up to around 100 years

❉ Diet ❉

Carnivorous & candyvorous

They love sweets especially and can’t live without them. Their body is great at conserving sugars but if they go too long with eating sweets or food in general they'll become frail and ill. An early sign is often cracked claws/horns which can heal but remain as faint scars if severe enough

Unattended Confonster eggs and babies are unfortunately snacks to them. But fons make sure to keep their eyes peeled!

❉ Behavior ❉

They are independent creatures that don't live in packs and usually prefer to be left alone. They don’t have their own spoken language but communicate through sounds that are much like dinosaur calls. They’re intelligent creatures, able to feel very similar emotions to Confonsters and can be expressive, but overall are feral. Not all Sweebeasts are aggressive, but most generally are by nature

Sweebeasts are the closest surviving ancestors of Confonsters and can still be found in the wild on Funasu. Instead of party themed monsters, they are sweet themed beasts! Sweebeasts are feral, they are intelligent but not to the extent like Confonsters.

In Confonster culture, Sweebeasts are generally feared and encouraged to be kept away from civilization through humane ways. Confonsters will keep their distance and try to shoo them away. In the past Sweebeast incidents have been recorded with them destroying events and eating many food supplies. More friendlier Sweebeatss can be trusted but it is always be a risk due to the specie’s reputation of extreme eating habits and wild instincts. Additionally, public attention can make any Sweebeast nervous if they aren’t used to it. Confonsters though still want to keep Sweebeasts around for as long as they can since they played such a big part in their evolution and history. Killing them is always a last resort. They are a sight to behold, beautiful creatures, and overall should be left alone.
