Carter is part of the Elkwoods, an old noble family recognised for their powerful magic. Despite his family’s renown, he’s managed to keep a low profile thanks to his private and reclusive nature. It makes it much easier to hide the research he’s been doing on the forbidden Abyssal magic…

Having a nonchalant demeanour, Carter gives off an air of apathy. His emotions are tempered and he always remains unfazed, no matter the situation. Getting a reaction out of him is difficult. He has a pessimistic outlook on life and is always prepared for the worst to happen – he learned to never expect anything in order to avoid the pain of disappointment.

He tutors young mages in magic, but is a poor teacher. Carter was initially encouraged to become a tutor due to his skill in spellcasting, but his mind is often elsewhere. The explanations and feedback he gives is vague and difficult to understand, and he has little interest in engaging with his students.
