Rainer Woodman

Rainer is a difficult person to get along with. He's a very masculine person, for better and for worse, and tends to be aggressive, seemingly disinterested, and emotionally distant most of the time. However, it doesn't take long to learn more about him, and to see that he is a tremendously generous person who fiercely protects those who he cares about, and will do whatever necessary to support them.

Like many in Rainer's position, he didn't have an easy childhood. He grew up with a single toxic father who was in and out of jail due to peddling drugs, and a younger brother who often took the brunt of his anger. Rainer dropped out of high school to work, and managed to get emancipated from his father, and took guardianship over his brother when he turned 20. Using whatever support he could scrape up from the few adults in his life who cared, he sent his little brother away to college, and he delved into work to support him, and himself.

Naturally, Rainer never got along with his peers. He was chilly and disinterested in little things that captivated people closer to his age. Robbed of a childhood, he worked whatever job he could get his hands on, and eventually got a GED. He took a few college courses himself, and went to school for criminal justice. He was quick to realize that this was not the crowd he wanted to be with, so he tried to gear his work more towards social work. Unfortunately this didn't pay well, and so to cover his and his brother's dept, he got a private investigation license.

While he hates his PI job, he can tolerate it because he is his own boss, and he does not have to work on cases he has ethical objections to. It is to no surprise though, that working two jobs has left him with little room for a social life. Whenever he tries to socialize beyond his family or work affiliates, he finds himself at a bit of a loss. He isn't up to date with social media, or whatever content people are currently consuming, and is too closeted to feel comfortable dating. He has resigned himself to only socializing with his little brother, his aunt, and a few family friends.
