Personality
Merman boy is just very confused about life at this moment. Once was very confident and daring, the type to smile and wave at anyone passing him by, who would go out of his way doing dangerous things to help others. Now he is much more laid-back/subdued, and just unsure as to where he fits in the world.
Backstory
He was the prince/heir to his kingdom's throne, but a usurper appeared that new dark magic and killed his parents. He was forced to flee to stay alive, but he feels intense guilt at leaving his people behind to be ruled by some maniac.
