The moments that lead up to Aine’s egg being laid were comedic, to say the least. A frantic call being sent out to Devali from circus manager Doug, saying that his wife had laid a glittery egg mid performance. Aisling has continued her circus shenanigans while carrying the egg, insisting that it was probably fine, and that surely she’d know when it was close to laying said egg. The only one of her friends that really knew about said egg were Etna and Vespa, when the former’s intuition figured out the surprise Aisling had been planning to tell the rest of her friends. Once the egg was laid and home safely, a party was planned to announce the future Duana-Dumeil child, and the new parents were giddy for the experience.

Aine was a happy enough child in her youth. Being the only daughter of Devali and Aisling, she was often coddled and doted on, usually in an over the top manner. Instead of inheriting her parents mannerisms of the melodramatic, the hybrid instead was fairly subdued in nature, preferring a quiet life. When she became older and what some may call a “rowdy teenager,” there was a very clear shift in her personality.

Scoffing at remarks, rolling her many eyes, and groaning at her parents constant complimenting became the norm for the girl. She felt trapped in her own home, spending a lot of time with her friends such as Elodie. Her parents worried they did something wrong to make such a spiteful daughter, Aisling not fully realizing the irony of being so concerned. Regardless, after assurances from their friends, the two continued to support Aine- albeit from the sidelines and much more casually... even if they didn’t understand this “pastel goth” thing that their daughter was into.

During one of her late night wanderings, Aine stumbled upon some ancient runes. She didn’t know how she never had seen these before, but she was still enthralled. In the midst of the rubble, an archaic tome was discovered, and upon touching its pages- a dark spirit emerged. The spirit, named Sierstrix promised Aine a power beyond her wildest dreams, so long as they were able to use her body was a vessel for her dark magic. The hybrid was immediately intrigued, but figured at the very least she should ask her parents if it was fine that she harbored an eldritch being in her body. She said she’d come back tomorrow, but before she could set on her way, the spirit became slightly panicked, telling her that this ancient rubble only shows itself every hundred years. She shrugged her shoulders, saying she’d have to pass. Maybe someone else would stumble upon this spirit and take it up on its deal.

Needless to say, the spirit wasn’t too thrilled about this, and after a bit of bargaining, Aine promised to give the spirit a “trial run” to use its magic, but it couldn’t have her soul. Her parents would be livid if she gave up her soul. The spirit agreed, and the pact was made that night, and Aine brought the book home, insisting to her parents that she just found the book at an antique shop, and that there was no reason to worry.. and why wouldn’t they believe their loving daughter?

Aine still is bonded with the spirit to this day in a fairly complicated relationship. Her parents are still oblivious of her dark-host status, and continue to cheer on her passions from the sidelines, no matter how strange. She ended up telling her friends, as well as Graiyor, who would very likely tip off Aisling and Devali if anything ever went south with the spirit. However, nothing ever did, and Aine kept a fairly amicable relationship with the entity, even going as far as to call it her friend.
