ABOUT

"Gonna hit me? Better make it count."

Known as a scourge amongst the upper classes, Tsuki is a bastard with a twisted sense of fun. Sticking his nose in other peoples' business is his favourite pass time, topped only by making their situations worse. The status quo of the upper classes irritates him so much that on some days he makes it his mission to ruin at least one of their days. Or ruin a business venture. Whatever seems like it'll be more fun. At any other time he can be found in the center of a crowd and is usually the one with a bloody nose and a crooked grin. Gambling is a guilty pleasure that he indulges at any given time, and uses his live as a gambling chip. With it being considered worthless to him he uses it to gain a variety of favours and items, though he always hopes that one day he'll lose (though it seems that fate won't let that happen despite his best efforts.)

Tsuki is bonafide thief and will steal right in front of dozens of people without a care, taunting his victims to best him in a fight in return for their possessions. Though he also has a taste for adventure and will stalk follow after travellers and offering his services in exchange for fun.

Despite these journeys Tsuki often spends his days simply going through the emotions, detached from reality and in a haze. Silently he longs to be put to rest in the most brutal of ways but is always disappointed to be greeted by the sun the next day.

DESIGN

  • His ears are very floppy and almost always have a slight downward curve to them. The only time they don't is when he's alert or alarmed. They are also black tipped on both sides. They can be drawn as shown on his ref or as floppy folded ears similar to dogs.
  • His tail is a small poof, like a rabbits! Big enough to be seen and wagged, but is always hidden beneath his fur skirt.
  • He has a fur "skirt" that starts at the side of his torso and flares out like a jolteon. His skirt does not hang down unless wet, it must ALWAYS be curved upwards. It can go a few inches past his pelvis and cannot be any shorter.
  • His legs are inspired by those of the closed species Scarfox. He can be drawn with long digi-grade legs or be drawn with legs closer to Scarfox, both are good! :]
  • He also has 2-3 rows of small bumps along his back that end right before his tail. They are similar to the back bumps found on alligators and crocs. They can be drawn as rounded or pointed but they must be small.
  • The yellow-grey face-like marking on his stomach can transform into a stomach mouth! Can have an optional tongue or only be teeth. This marking can also be edited/simplified if needed!
  • Eyes glow in the dark.
  • Always wear a collar of some sort! Can be a simple black collar eith gold/silver buckles, or one more intricate. His usual collar is purple with a gold bell and bowtie with pink tips.

BACKGROUND

HISTORY

Tsuki's family lived within a region that was plagued with blights left behind by a fallen god. The Upper Courts declared this region to be in a state of emergency, enacting strict curfews and sending scheduled patrols to clear out any blighted creatures that wandered too close to their settlements. These creatures varied, but the most notorious were the Mimics, monsters that could take the form of almost anything else. Upper Courts demanded they be killed on sight if discovered by anyone, and severe punishments would be given to those who didn't. Mimics were a danger to society, blood thirsty creatures created by the blood of a wrathful god that promised no good will towards those who lived beneath the Heavens. Mimics were his claws on Earth.

Unfortunately, Mimics had already invested the area. Due to this patrols of Church Swords (executioners) were ordered to conduct blood tests. If the blood was red, you passed. If it was any deviation from red, you failed and were brought in for futher questioning. These "questions" often led to beheadings. A handful of Mimics had befriended mortals, proving that they meant no harm and were the exact same as them despite a few minor differences. The rise in Mimic sympathy brought tension to the trust between the Upper Courts and the common mortals. With aid most Mimics were able to enter and thrive in the region disguised as mortals, often living among them and contributing to their communities. Secret relationships between mimics and mortals were very common, but forbidden by the Upper Courts.

THE BEGINNING..

Because of being half-bloods Tsuki's family moved often, jumping from town to town when things got a little too stressful. As an obviously half-blooded creature Tsuki wasn't allowed the luxuries other young people had, such as exploring the world and playing in the open with one another. He'd always been promised more freedom as he got older, but that freedom never truly came. Instead he was granted the "freedom" to visit relatives, attend night markets (only with family intow), watch bugs, and be kept at his family's side at all times. The future he dreamed of felt like it was slipping away, replaced by the dark image of a home overflowing with relatives. It was suffocating.

More often than not Tsuki had little say in anything that his family did. Events, travels, his voice was never heard. Should he dare to complain he'd be ganged up on and shamed into shutting up. Frustration at his circumstanced built to an all time high, leading to Tsuki denouncing his family and faking his death the following week. He had planned to live on the streets until he could form a plan to escape the entire region but his time was cut short when a night patrol had spotted him. Luckily a friend was leading the patrol and offered Tsuki a place to stay. Tsuki grew antsy for the time he stayed with his friend fearing that he'd be found out, and made the decision to take a few things and run. He ran until he could no longer recognise the terrain.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

Tsuki would spend years travelling the enormous region, picking up a variety of skills to improve his quality of life in any form. He would also acquire bad habits that left him hungover and beaten black and blue. Regardless, he's living his best life. In the coming years he'd reunite with his childhood friend, only to have a horrifically messy falling out that resulted in them becoming enemies.

There came a night where he was certain he'd die. A heist gone wrong, he was left bleeding out and his innards in his hands. Tsuki had seen this a thousand times, every night when the stars blinked awake he'd imagine what his end would be. How unfortunate that it would be so lonesome. Unbeknownst to Tsuki a deity had been following his travels, taking interest in the Mimic that didn't seem to care about his future. As he laid with his vision going dark, the deity would grant him immortality, to continue upon his amusing adventures. He would die this night and awake with the sun glaring down at him, injuries of the previous night gone but the evidence of it still there. This blessing would become his curse.
One night when he was shit-faced he stumbled towards an odd, brightly decorated door and tumbled through. With a hiss he'd open his eyes, squinting against a harsh sun that beat down on him. He didn't recognise this area at all, and it was nowhere to be found on his map. Swearing that he'd already explored from corner to corner he begrudingly began to label a new map, giving the new land a curious glance. Another chance at life...? How strange. Well, third time's the charm, right?

RELATIONSHIPS

Decided they were friends the minute Ryuu knocked him out cold. Then fell in love the second time Ryuu knocked him to the ground. Decided to confess the third time Ryuu beat him to the ground, and revealed his emotions via a screaming match in a muddy alleyway.
In reality Tsuki had planned to rob Ryuu but was quickly put in his place. He found Ryuu intriguing and pursued him out of curiosity, slowly growing closer and becoming friends. The two became unseparable and Tsuki soon realised he had deeper feelings than he anticipated. Leading a life of solitude left him feeling lost and unsure what to do, so he did what the best of us do: ignored his feelings and coped via fist fighting random people in the street. This only worked for so long before Ryuu wrestled a strained confession out of him. Now they're the weirdest couple you'll ever see and should steer clear of. Often nicknamed double trouble, or the Fangs of God due to how ferocious they can be.

TBA (tldr rai is ryuus brother that got off on the wrong foot with tsuki, and thus they were enemies for the longest time. they became friends at an excrutiating pace and ended up something akin to best friends, though they still bully the fuck outta each other at any given chance. tsuki would not hesitate to put his life on the line if rai was genuinely in trouble. on the other hand he would absolutely let rai choke to death on a slice of apple and laugh in his face as he revived him. he adores rai in the same way he hates him.)

Elias was one of the few friends Tsuki was able to make (and keep) during his younger years. The two considered each other best friends and were practically connected at the hip. (Rumour had it that Elias possibly had a small crush on Tsuki.) Devastated at Tsuki's "death", Elias had sworn to get revenge. He bumped into Tsuki years later and the two rekindled their friendship, only for Elias to reveal he became a priest and for Tsuki to reveal he was a mimic. Tsuki had offered that they look over their differences but Elias had a slightly different idea. He offered to "cleanse" Tsuki of his evil blood and return him to the love of his God, much to Tsuki's dismay. The two had a falling out and fought nearly to death. Tsuki now avoids Elias at any given chance, and Elias has sworn to "free" his friend by any means necessary.

TRIVIA

  • LOVES to try new things, even if he's not good at them

  • Has a habit of collecting dirt and foliage of new places he visits. He places the samples in tiny jars and keeps them on a shelf with a label
  • He tends to attack any new people he meets, not out of maliciousness (some of the time), but as a form of friendship (if he loses he must respect their wishes, if he wins they must become his friend. He's often known to cheat.)
