Chryses

Chryses is a selfless individual who struggles with his own identity and how to use the powers with which he was given. He pushes himself to great extremes in order to help others, suffering daily without fail in exchange for nothing but the peace of knowing he'd done something to help someone else. For all the comfort he gives others- he struggles to find his own and he doesn't know how to search for his own peace.

At times he really can't see himself beyond being a vessel for the gods to communicate with, even though this really isn't the life he wants. He does use his abilities as responsibly as he is able, and even then he doubts himself greatly. He has a lot of anxiety about his role in the world and why he was given such a gift if it only seems to hurt him further. He finds it hard to truly be himself around- or trust others, because it only seems like people want him for the skill he possesses, making him quite reserved in expressing himself beyond pleasantries. He always expects people to want something out of every interaction, which can make him come across as rather skittish, though he's always polite.

He's very unhappy with his life, and yet struggles to understand what he can really do to change it without sacrificing the moral attributes that make him feel purposeful in his actions. 

He loves music, and has an artistic and wandering soul. 

Since he was young, Chryses has always had a connection to a plane of existence most didn't, eventually learning he could communicate with spirits and the gods beyond the mortal realm. This experience is very unpleasant, but after the word got around, his reputation began to precede him. He travels far trying to find peace, but those who speak of him make it very hard to stay under the radar. 

His generosity gives him great difficulty telling people no when they want him to speak to the dead or ask for blessings from the gods, and as a result his reputation grows even further putting him more and more in likelihood of receiving requests. 

He puts himself through great agony for the sake of others, and questions greatly into whether this is truly his destiny- for why would the gods give him such a gift otherwise?
