Eye of the truth order
Domains: Southern center and part of the eastern territory
The judges, juries and executioners of the empire. The smallest but not the least influential faction.
They assert that the empire can only be maintained if the law is above all else, even morality or faith. Their guiding principle is that justice has no face or compassion, only balance. They consider truth a tool, not a right, and that it must be used to preserve the stability of the system. Therefore, they see others as necessary but potentially corrupt pieces, and it is their duty to correct them when they threaten the balance.
𝕽eligion
Unlike the other factions, they worship no gods. They distrust deities, considering them corrupting and biased, and declare that actions should be governed by mortal, not divine, laws. Nevertheless, they tolerate the practice of personal beliefs as long as they do not interfere with the strict application of duty. It is common to find some members offering prayers to Tyr, Oghma or even Helm.
𝕬rmy
They do not possess a conventional army. Their force consists of the so-called Verdicts, a unit tasked with enforcing the law and carrying out imperial sentences. They act as itinerant judges, inquisitors, or executioners, with the authority to investigate and punish without being accountable to other factions.
Within the capital, they maintain the Halls of Judgment, where their courts and underground prisons are concentrated.
Some members of the order also serve as legal and diplomatic advisors to the empire, although their real job is controlling discourse: deciding what is considered true.
𝕬llies
They are deeply respected for their role in the creation of the empire, but are currently considered naive regarding justice. They admire their discipline and sense of duty, and see them as necessary allies for maintaining the moral equilibrium of the empire.
They are perceived as a beneficial and useful influence within the empire, as their devotion to life and healing helps maintain social stability. However, their excessive compassion makes them vulnerable to manipulation. They prefer to keep them close, just in case.
𝔓acts
Their relationship is based on mutual benefit; justice in exchange for information and political favors. Despite their significant ideological differences, they share a pragmatic view of power. Ironically, internal corruption has led certain high-ranking judges to cover up crimes in exchange for influence and territorial control. Officially, they deny them; in practice, they protect them when it suits them.
𝔈nemies
They are not accused of corruption or manipulation, but their influence on politics—both domestic and foreign—is viewed with suspicion because it could compromise the empire's interests. Their aim is not to confront them directly, but to keep them under scrutiny and ensure their role remains economic, not political.
