I'll cut to the chase: Our luck ran out and my dad has covid. Even if I wasn't almost certainly exposed already (profoundly unlikely), there's only one functional bathroom in the house and his caretaker isn't masking, so I'm definitely going to be exposed anyway.

I fully expect my mother to also get sick, which is a problem because they're the primary breadwinners and we don't know how bad it's going to be for either of them.

I am in the process of switching to a new browser (specifically Vivaldi), since Firefox's ram greed was actively impacting other programs. e: I've looked into costs of initial diagnosis and imaging (assuming things are clearly visible) and that's about 200 USD. Actual treatment is harder to guess; they will almost certainly start with less invasive measures, but given that I don't know if that would work I can't say how much that would cost. I'm assuming at least 100 USD but I have no way of being sure.

tl;dr arm function gone, miss arm function

You've probably seen me post this elsewhere, but i recently have had some kind of nerve issue in my shoulder/neck that is directly affecting the function of my right arm. Unfortunately, even basic computer use/things like eating cause it to flare up pretty badly--i can get away a bit with typing, since that's 90% my left hand, but using the mouse or tablet means having to keep track and drop what i'm doing at the first sign of numbness. (no, otc anti-inflammatories don't help and heat only keeps the numbness from creeping up to my face on bad days.)

I've basically been rendered unable to work, and i also just learned that the petsitting job i have was called off as the owner was let go on very short notice. Unfortunately this means I am very limited i how i can gather income to actually pay for imaging (to diagnose the problem) and treatment. My ko-fi has some bases for sale in addition to being a tip jar, my main patreon is currently just a tip jar, and i was going to redo rewards for my adopt patreon if you want something in return from a patreon.
