In this universe mutants/people with abilities are called Arcane (As a whole, they get called differently depending on power types). They're the ones with Special genetic abilities that gives them powers drawn from extra magic

 (or “unexplained energy” as scientists call it, ‘cuz scientists refuse to believe magic is real …) from the earth.  Specific element types originated from certain areas, with some are ostracized. There are also a few patron gods.
