In a future where VR and the real life are closely intertwined and online entertainment has become the norm, where just about everyone dreams of making it big in the virtual ring either by themselves or with their virtual AI companions called NEXCOM, a young man named Beto Widget takes up the moniker of KING and enters tournament after tournament, in hopes of meeting and beating his hero, a mysterious and elusive champion named Z.
