Because of the Clan's dedication to the stars and moon, members other than the medicinecat are able to communicate with starclan. Those with extremely strong devotion may even have the potential to obtain prophecies, albeit rare. The only cat who seems to gain these prophecies is Aries, who also has the strongest connection.
Communication skills
The stars guide the members of Twilightclan through many tasks. When hunting, they use their knowledge to find positioning as they navigate their territory. Patterns in the stars and lunar phases help to dictate incoming weather, and make it easier to tend to the growth of flora. Everyone in the clan learns basic stargazing techniques for this reason.
Showing affection
Twilightclan lives in mountainous forests. They prefer higher elevations, as they believe it brings them closer to starclan. The territory surrounding the clan is rich with bioluminescence, which gives an almost fantastical look to the forest. Members believe in preserving the essense of nature, so they constantly maintain the area around them through planting flowers or tending to blocked off forest areas. As higher elevations are usually colder, many cats have fluffy fur, especially around the neck area. Due to the nature of their environment, these cats are often isolated, but they are not unwelcoming to those who wish to join.
Skills
With the night sky as their guide, Twilightclan cats are efficient hunters. The dense forest they live in requires constant manuverablity, leaving many cats nimble. As they operate a night quite often, members have developed stronger than average night vision compared to normal cats. The varying elevations of the mountain side also allow for strong stamina upkeep.
Every cat is required to learn the basics of stargazing, and are often heavily devoted to the fact. Extensive knowledge of the stars is said to increase their bond with starclan, and allow them to recieve their starsigns. Due to their studies, they are very knowledgable about the world around them, as they need to know how to navigate. This knowledge primarily stays within the clan, however, as they do not see many cats. The medicine cat and the leader are often the ones interpereting starclan messages, but cats are also able to communicate on their own.
With the vast variety of plant life surrounding the camp, knowledge of herbs and plants is a must for survival. Conditions can change easily in the mountains, which necessitates the need for competent medicine cats as well. Members will try to treat any cats they come across, given the terrain is difficult to navigate.
While there are many skilled warriors in Twilightclan, due to their isolationist nature, they are not as experienced in combat. As cats have come from many different backgrounds, they would still be able to put up a decent fight. They prefer not to have conflict, and instead use their knowledge of terrain to evade enemies.

Environment
In the middle of the territory lies a large glowing ash tree surrounding a bioluminescent lake. The quality of earth and soil around it has led it to grow much bigger than an average ash tree, and the biolumniesence surround the tree have caused the leaves and wood to have a faint glow. Clan cats believe this tree connects the spiritual and earthly realms, not unlike Yggdrasil. It is here cats come to communicate with starclan. This sacred place is maintained at all times, and is decorated with varying flowers.
Hymns
Singing is a constant occurence in Twilightclan. They believe that the hymns they sing reach the ears of Starclan and appease the dead. The most talented singer in the clan is Moonsong, who teaches others how to sing as well. If a cat is good enough, their singing may also attract surrounding animals and birds.
Gemstones
Deep in cave systems lie various gemstones of which some cats like to gather. The gemestones are reminescent of stars in the eyes of the clan members, which are then used to decorate the camp. Great emphasis is placed on making the clan camp resemble the night sky.
Festivals and 'Sharing tongues'
As a way to begin to develop their own history, stories are shared amongst others as a way to better connect with their community. Tales can range from old myths of the world to menial things like what they did that day. By doing so, they foster greater bonds with each other.
Festivals are celebrated in honor of celestial phenomena such as meteor showers, comets, and eclipses. Lunar phases are also celebrated as indication of good tidings and harvest. These festivals serve to further deepen their connection with the stars and moon, but also to offer a moment of respite in times of stress.
History
Twilightclan was founded by Aries, after he left Dawnclan. ostracized for not believing in the status quo, he endevored to make a place of belonging. Guided by a prophecy of stars, Aries and his mate settled in what they call the Forest of Echos. Formation was slow with just the two cats, but as if through divine intervention, they met cats who all had connections to the stars in some way shape or form.
Not having any ancestors to honor, Twilightclan is rather innovative in their beliefs, and not tied down to tradition as much as other clans. Due to the nature of their clan, they are rather inexperienced in diplomacy with other clans. Though they try to be civil, arguments do sometimes break out. Apart from Dawnclan however, they will try to maintain friendly relations.
Importance of Star signs
The star sign ceremony is one of the most important apects of life in Twilight clan. This ceremony orginally came into being after Aries recieved his prophecy from starclan after being revived. He was given the name Ariesstar after the the Ram zodiac. Ever since then, it is a custom that starclan would bless worthy cats with their own star sign, reflective of their strengths and personalities, as well as contributions to the clan.
As the founders, Moonsong and Aries are the only cats who automatically had their own star signs. A star sign can be recieved at any point in a cats life. A cat is 'selected' to get a starsign through their dreams. upon recognition, they go before the great ash tree where they get their blessing. For now, the star signs refer to the twelve zodiac, which are revealed in the sky above the tree.
When a cat dies, although rare, it is possible for their starsign to be passed onto another. In this way, it serves as both a memorium to the departed, and a way of carrying the essence of their soul.
Dawnclan
The clan that Aries comes from is the antithesis to Twilightclan ideals. Their war like traditions and worship of the sun lead them to clash with Twilightclan. Contact with members of Dawnclan are relatively few and far between, however those conflicts often turn violent.
Ariesstar holds resentment towards Dawnclan for the way he was treated, and some of those feelings get reflected in the way he leads. Clan cats sometimes wonder why his policies are so agressive, yet Aries keeps his reasoning to himself.
The importance of flowers
- Flowers are another tradition that is important to Twilightclan. Flowers hold symbolic meaning, from remembering the dead, to representing parts of their inner selves. Flowers are often given as a celebratory gift, with some even holding medicinal properties. Finally, laying flowers around the camp adds to a sense of beauty around the camp. The flowers attract fauna and various other nocturnal insects which also provide sources of food for the clan.
