Silly Birds

Scarlet has lived her whole life alongside humans, raised by a rural family after being found in their chicken coop. Her world expands when she accompanies Maisie to college and discovers a flock of Shadowings residing in the city. One in particular takes a liking to her, and now Scarlet finds herself eager to learn more about her kind.

Shadowings are an odd bunch; they’re intelligent, bird-like animals that are sustained by the energy they absorb from other sapient creatures. Having no mouths, they have no other way to feed, and communicate using telepathy. Their chest markings, called Crests, denote the elemental ability the Shadowing is able to utilize.

Shadowings are an original species created by me and featured in Elemental Earth. They can also be made outside of this universe, if desired.
