Sarabi had doubt as Scar told her of her mate and sons "accidental" deaths. As the hyenas started to approach pride rock, it clicked. Her son being in dangerous situations as of late, and now their deaths. And Scar being all too prepared to become king and change the laws. She regained control of Pride rock after many hyenas, and Scar who was killed by herself were dead. 

Sarabi becoming the sole ruler of pride rock was something that none of the lionesses were opposed to. Knowing her nature to follow through with the laws and what was best for it's inhabitants.
