Crystal Goblins

Small creatures that eat their way through mountains and any sort of rock.  To surround themselves in stone, that slowly will change into the stone growth on their heads.

Their den are often found by miners to sell to jewel crafter or different types of smiths.

When found they scurry to start over some place new and alone.
