The Sheikah have a history just as rich as the Hylians. They were once a technologically advanced race, creating gigantic machinery and operating a type of energy that is only slowly being reverse engineered come the Era of the Wilds after it was rediscovered. Long ago, though they deigned themselves to serve the Hylians in their shadow, the Hylians distrusted them, labelling them shadowfolk and forcing them to cast aside their great power. This conflict is quite muddy as no records can accurately recall details of this event, but it is known what resulted is a splitting of factions. The Sheikah still seeking to abide by the Hylians and agreeing that holding onto such powerful technology was dangerous, settled in Lanayru in Kakariko Village. The Sheikah who thus disagreed with this action and believed the Hylians were wrong to tear their own technological advancements from them and that they were envious cowards. This faction became recognized as the Yiga Clan, and through centuries of hatred, sought vengeance via the powers of the aspect of hatred Demise.
