Bismuth Labyrinth

Bismuth Labyrinth follows Fran and Levi, two roommates who have been best friends for years, but their relationship has crumbled in recent times as built up jealousy and resentment between them began to boil over. Levi can't hold a job and is constantly missing his rent payments. Fran, fed up with his unchanging behaviour, demands he cough up his half of the rent before the end of the week or be evicted.

Levi, lacking savings and unable to bear the shame that would come with moving back in with his uncles, searches for any gig that would get him the money he needs in time. He lands on a beta-testing job for a new massive-multiplayer online game that is in development. Unexpectedly, he almost immediately receives the program file; but upon opening it, everything suddenly goes white...

Fran stumbles upon Levi's computer with the program left running, and sees the familiar face of its roommate trapped within... with no other option, the former best friends are forced to work together to explore the world inside the game and find a way to free not just Levi, but all of the other innocent souls who were somehow digitized. Fran also finds an unexpected real-world ally in Levi's partner, Markus, who is equally as desperate to save the one he loves from a mysterious fate within the program.

As time goes on, the three of them will unravel the mysteries of the game and its developers, as well as the enigmatic Violet who is running the show. They will meet a variety of strange characters, friends and foes, and learn their stories. And most importantly, they will strengthen their bonds and mend broken connections that seemed beyond saving.
