Mercury Bay. The year is 20XX, a new form of Virtual Reality has been released to the public. Virtual Reality Space Immersion (VRSI): Cyberspace. With the release of this new method, follows a suspicious rise in users falling into incurable comatose states. Dubbed by the press, "VR Syndrome." When his brother, a detective, falls victim to VR Syndrome, it's up to Caleb and his friends to figure out the truth behind these comas.

The protagonist. He's a normal teen living with a single mother. He has an older brother named Nick who is a detective for the local police force. He's an introvert. He finds it hard to express his emotions and tends to shut others out. Like his mother, he's more inclined to hyperfixate on things, obsessing over it until he knows everything about it.
Ellie
A local of Mercury Bay. She has a younger brother named Aaron that's in 5th grade. She's bold and aggressive, a very in-your-face kind of girl. Not afraid to speak her mind, she'll make sure you know what she thinks about you. Even though her attitude can be seen as careless and immature, she's surprisingly mature and considerate when it comes to her friends. She's especially protective of Caleb as he reminds her of Aaron.
Richard
Born in New York, moved to Mercury Bay at the age of 5. His parents are a young lesbian couple. Contrary to his delinquent-like appearance, he is the resident computer and videogame nerd of the friend group. He excels in anything related to computers, electronics, and coding. He's outgoing and fun loving, gets easily excited about his passions. Despite being quite mathematically smart, he tends to lack common sense and can be quite dumb at times.
Trevor
A mysterious character. No one knows him outside of his Avatar. Extremely introverted and appears to have no friends. He's smart enough to enter deep cyberspace and successfully extract.
