Diavlo views Aloe as both her child and as a sibling, someone she needs to protect when she can but trusting in them to be able to take care of themselves despite their small structure. Aloe happens to be one of the only people Diavlo truly trusts with her life and would trust them with whatever information she gleamed necessary to share, even going as far as to confide secrets that could potentially be used against her.
Aloe views Diavlo as a mother of sorts, a universal parental figure that anyone could turn to under the right circumstances, harsh but forgiving and quick to accept people under her wing. Aloe themselves had been taken in by Diavlo upon finding Aloe scrounging for food above ground, not knowing a lick of Inklish and seemingly flying under the radar in terms of Octoling housing. Diavlo, beyond trusting the Inklings had taken them in. Their relationship is steady and healthy despite the two seemingly having polar opposite personalities, one thing they do share in common is seemingly their complete disregard for concern over violence.
Makani loves Leona to the same extent; pushing her away out of a sense of an identity crisis and a strive to become someone away from her as the two seemed to bounce off of each other's personalities. The action causes a strain on their relationship that Makani tries desperately to fix. Makani wouldn't trade their and Leona's relationship for anything in the world.
Her dearest and beloved sibling. Although they had been inseparable as kids, they gradually drifted apart as they grew into their teens, and find it hard to reconnect as they enter adulthood. Though not for lack of desire to. Leona deeply cares about Makani, and will do anything for them, even give her life. But even that won't stop the two from bickering loudly and constantly.
Practically siblings. They share a telepathic connection of sorts, and she at this point can't imagine being alive without him.
Adores her with every fibre of his being as his loving girlfriend; Paz spends his days bewildered by the concept of having earned her love but cherishes it more than anything he could ever possibly own. Anya makes Paz strive to want to be a better person. He considers her much better than him.
Her adorable boyfriend. She regards him in a more nurturing way, considers him to be gentle where she is cold, and hopeful where she's lost hers.
Fresa finds Chico immensely intimidating; it's a complicated twist of emotions stemming from a feeling of betrayal on the side of his adoptive brother and from a sense of confusion when it came to her blatant romantic feelings for the Inkling. Fresa isn't sure what Francisco thinks of him, or even what she should feel himself but in a nervous twist of emotions; Fresa wishes to get to know him better.
Complicated. For practical purposes, considers Fresa to be a mark, a source of information and a hot meal (If Lucius is so gracious as to not be breathing down the kid's neck at such a time). But, sees something in him beyond it. Who could say what though.
Pim despises Kaori with every fibre of his being, which doesn't take much as the Salmonid is full of hatred for most who have entered his life. Pim considers Grizz a nuisance, in the way of his own plans towards his Bind, which he had been wrongfully (in his mind), banished from. Pim's motivations are revenge and Kaori has landed himself on the list of people he wishes to enact it upon.
Kaori considers Pim to be vermin of the dangerous variety, calculated and smart despite the persona the Salmonid pulls on the likes of Inkopolis, trying to fly under the radar as a seemingly mindless creature occupying the alleyways of Inkopolis. Grizz knows better, and having dedicated his life prior to finding out about Pim's existence, dedicates near solely all of his time to the monitoring and managing of Salmonids. Kaori sees Pim for what he is; a threat, and grim foreshadowing for the future of the Salmonid species.
Like most people; Paz finds Kaori immensely intimidating. It doesn't take much when it comes down to Paz, but he would put Grizz on his top 5 (at least) of intimidating people to interact with. Just like Anya, the young Octoling struggles to understand what the other can see in him but the fatherly glint in his eyes and the continuous return to his otherwise seemingly barren shop keeps Paz grounded, steadily, on the feeling of familiarity and care.
A sheepish kid, Kaori often wonders how Paz had made it so far in life without having been taken out by the war, it was a wonder even now, without the strife of life underground how Paz was maintaining a semi decent lifestyle without completely collapsing in on himself emotionally. Regardless of that all, Kaori considers him to be full of potential and therefore, passes his trust to him in terms of his identity and his job.
Paz considers Diavlo and his relationship as something comparable to that of siblings, finding her immensely reliable but also someone to keep him in check if he's to stray from a path he should be set on and Diavlo would be quick to do so if needed. Their relationship from an outside perspective may seem strained but they have a seemingly subconscious understanding, or at least, Paz thinks so.
Whilst Paz considers their relationship as something comparable to siblings; Diavlo views Paz almost as if he were her son, someone who needs guidance and to tutor him through life and through his identity crisis as someone who has spent way too much time inside of her head, desperate to figure out all she could, even if other's could argue there was nothing else to find. Diavlo isn't afraid of setting Paz straight and will sometimes turn to violence if she's 100% sure words could do nothing for the situation. This is what creates the faux tension between them from an outside perspective but Paz understands better than anyone and it's something they mutually respect.
