Heaven's End

(Prequel to Paradise Lost; also the blacked out stuff is just spoilers)

Summary: Wrongly banished from heaven, all because of your brother. That's how the story of Reuel goes, and he is determined to get back into heaven. One night, on his journey, he comes across a strange book, and he takes it, in hopes that it will help him somehow. When he opens it however, he ends up awakening a god older than the world he lives in... the god says that they'll help Reuel, but he must break the barrier protecting this world from Crossroads, but he must not draw attention to himself. He happily obliges, but he finds that he can't break the barrier himself, so thus he goes up to Ater and lures him into removing the barrier's divinity with the promise of companionship and by disguising the barrier as something else. However, as soon as Ater finishes doing so, Reuel immediately turns him over to the gods secretly, which results in Ater getting banished himself...

The fallen angel Ater had become a priest when he first fell, and he finds that what caused him to fall from heaven became a blur; he can't remember anything at all. Until, ten years later... he faintly recalls a distant memory, a memory... of Reuel first talking to him. It's a start, but a start is what all Ater needed; sooner or later, it'll all come back to him.
