RPG-styled virtual reality game.
Any person is allowed to join.
Players have total control over the customization of their avatars' appearances but are only allowed to pick 1 class: Pion. They are also allowed to choose to be Blanc, Noir or to switch between the two at random. Roi characters are randomly assigned. A Pion can then choose to upgrade to any of the other classes (Tour, Cavalier, Fou and Dame) after a certain amount of experience is achieved, or they can remain a Pion.
Experience can be gained by winning battles in a survival-type game of chess. The players move in turns, but, unlike a real chess game where only one piece can be moved for each side, each individual player gets a turn. Players aren't allowed to eliminate their teammates.
The game ends when one of the team's Roi finds themselves in a check. Just like in a real chess match, the Roi cannot be 'eliminated'.
Although it's similar to a survival game, it is still a game which requires team work. If a player gets eliminated it won't affect their personal experience, but if the team loses, all of the players from that team will have a certain amount of their experience taken and, consequently, and depending on the experience they already had, their ranks lowered. Once they've upgraded their class, the experience will only affect their rank. [Ranks TBA]
If a player is eliminated, their character will have a cooldown of 24 hours before the player can access another game.
Though battles are a big part of the game, players can also choose to just hang out in the virtual world and not partake in battles. They're also free to spectate whatever battles are going on.
