Opal city was an original idea created back in 2013-2014 when i became more dedicated to writing than drawing since i felt like i was horrible at art. The story didn't start to develope into a main focus until the beginning of 2019. It wasn't until i got Melina, did i start to realize the type of story i wanted to tell. I've always love stories about treasure hunters and the dangers that came along with the job. Wanting to make it less fantasy and more thrill and action, i created this story.
Story Summary
There can be no good without evil. The people of Autania knew at least this much. Being in constant wars with each others providence to assert domiance. To take more land -- as if they need more. It is within this fifty year battle for domiance against each other do they fight for the change of history. Destroying evidence of the past in writing, video, photo, and so on. Leaving behind destruction and no way to know of what the past was once like. No way to keep them from repeating their same mistakes. Nothing left but the fictional stories dating far back as the beginning of time. The most famous fictional writing known simply as "Opal City."
A city off the east border said to float above the very water it was above. The city said to change color as the sun sets, memicing the same rare gem found on the planet of Autania, the Opal. Thus, getting its nickname Opal City. However, in most forms of fiction that mention the Opal City never mention of its disapperance. Many of the pages of these works of fiction have pages so evidence of ripped out pages. As years went on, off the east coast, a couple of divers found a stone tablet with unfamiliar writing. It didnt take long for scientist to take over a search and begin a possible investagtion into finding the truth about Opal City -- fact or fiction?
Several more years will pass. The investigation will stall and reopen and eventually close back up once again claiming it was a wild goose chase on a fictional story with no proof of ever existing beside a tablet that no one knows where its come from. But then again, with documents burnt up and destroied with the old wars - they can't elimnate anything. While the investigation is closed, it didnt keep any one else from trying to learn the truth. Truly believing the writing is something out of this world. Many called them conspariy theorist, others brave. It would take another 50 yaers of passed down information and getting closer to the truth. The childern of the first explorers will pass their info down to their kids and from there, they will pass them down to their kids.
this is where out story will take place. Modern day kids, looking for a treasure their parents adn their grandparents, and their great parents all swore was there. This will only wake up somethign they wish they never had for the persuit of truth. So their lives didnt die in vain.

This is one of my most recent ideas and thus the least developed. i really LOVE this idea of a lost city with hidden secrets. I also really like the idea of treasure hunters -- people who go towards legends to find the burried treasure. These two ideas i made opal city. i couldve easily tried for another atlantis story, which this could be, but i chose not to. this story is one of the pieces i plan to focus on here soon in terms of character re-designs and background stories for each character. I'm even uncertain which characters i want to be the main and secondary too. So everything is up in the air with this story and set to change at any given time!
- ⟩ The world this called Autania. It is one giant continent amongst a lot of bodies of waters. these people dont venture out much from land simply because they dont really need to. Because of this there could be plenty of land of islands out there and they dont truly care to know about.
- ⟩ The giant continent is called Eska. They call themselves Eskians. Eska has 18 countries total. The country this takes place in is called south-west region of Eska called Ocrines. The city this will take place in is called Xey.
- ⟩ There are 3 types of Eskians. You either have long, medium, or short ears. All ears are pointed. There are only 5 different languages that they know of and about 10-20 different religions.
- ⟩ Skin tones vary based on region. The southerns are more tan and darker complexion. Notherns are paler and sometimes even blue to skin tone. The middle as well as the west & east vary depending on how far up north or south they are. they tend to be varying in color. Skin tone does not matter to any of the Eskians.
- ⟩ The Eskians are cosntantly waring against each other. Once one war ends another starts. Most of its about domiance for more land ( so they can rule the whole world - literally ) or religious wars.
- ⟩ While most Eskians will stay above ground for their resources, the scientist and explorers refuse to stay on land and often travel out. Finding new creatures under the water, more treasure they can't trace to anything. Oddly enough, the more they look into it the more the government of the nation for protection rights will shut down any and all programs that lead to sea exploration. This of course, will only push people more - what are they hiding?
- ⟩ What they dont realize is Opal city residents are why Eskians have long pointed ears. They dont know that anciestors are what helped shap Eska the next 250 years.
- ⟩ Opal city - if it exists - dates back to as far as 450 years ago. Scriptures on it - deemed fiction at first - where finally found after the world of war 350 years from present time - so basically 100 years after Opal city supposed demise they assume. In 250 years from present time - or 200 years after Opals fall -, people begin to set up to try to find Opal City. They will try to find it for 20 years before its shut down after they find evidence that is never released to the public - part of a stone tablet. Then, 150 years from present time - or 300 years after opals fall -, The great great grandparents start a crew that'll be passed down to three generations to present time where Opal City will finally raise. It'll take 150 more years before any one finds the actual city.
- ⟩ Connected Worlds connection : after the second world war, they clearly werent ready for a round 3. While Evalyn can use her powers to try to keep the dark sorcerers at bay, they proved to by way stronger than her. it doesnt help when one of the sorcerers kills the dark djinn which ends the war, but only to absorb his endless magic supply.
- ⟩ the blue dragon will be found inside Melina. The one who thinks this all started because of her. Her purity and truehearted ways, it was her without a second thought.
- ⟩ these connections are still forming between these two worlds as i try to develope this story more. this is the newest adition to the connection to my story "Connected Worlds" so its the least explored connection wise.
