Thomas Shepherd seems to have vanished from the face of the Earth.
Various people, connected to him in some way or another, start looking for him, a group united by some common goal despite their different interests.
It's not long until they realize there is something much, much deeper and stranger going on, that they're in the middle something unexplicable. The world seems to shift and change around them in irrational, surreal ways. There seem to be no certainties left. Except for one.
Thomas Shepherd is still nowhere to be found. And they're still determined to find him, or die trying.
If they can even die.
- fair warning there is a lot of death in this story. characters get killed a lot. violently.
- there's also a fair amount of body horror. no spoilers but people sometimes come back wrong and it's not pretty
- other heavy topics might be mentioned or depicted.
- this is such a silly little thing but. all the character profile use hue-shifted bootstrap colors, meaning they change depending on the theme you're using. they only look as intended on the teal theme, sorry for the inconvenience :(
idk where to put this but the title is a pun on jacob's ladder and on charon's staircase. what can i say i like biblical stuff and ancient greek theatre
