in the same way that no normal person is staring at you monitoring every little aspect of your appearance, no one is picking at every detail of your art

its not that people know better or anything its just thats how people work

anyone who can genuinely sit down and think about how hypothetically ugly your art is, and then seriously have that be the only thing that matters to them, is a FREAK! no one is trained to think that way about others, no one is trained to view anything that way, anybody who lives like that has become that way on their own accord and thats theyre problem

TLDR you are the only person who will ever be as hard on your art as you are, the majority of people are gonna think your art is sick

when i was 15 i saw this hat online that said like good job brandon or lets go brandon on it or something

and i thought it was so funny because who is brandon and why are we congratulating him

i bet he did something so good

so whenever i wanted to fill the space in a conversation id say lets go brandon because i like talking with references :)

remember to insult your favourite artists sometimes, when a creator receives great compliments often (or all the time) with no negative feeback, their brain becomes immune to the dopamine and it will stop producing it as a response

this can also lead to the creative feeling as if their work is insufficient or declining

this is imposter syndrome

the brain adapts to the dopamine source and becomes immune to it, this can be recovered by the source itself declining, and then returning in its prime state

this will effectively reset the dopamine your compliments give the artist, and they will receive rich, efficient dopamine again
