XYZUS

The pantheon of gods that reside in the Oculus-bound realm of Xyzūs.

THE SPARKWEAVE: Base code of the universe, origin of all magic and all Primordial / Stelliferous deities. Referred to as 'the source code' among the godly pantheon.

PRIMORDIAL DEITIES: Gods responsible for the creation of the universe, sculpted from the fabric of the Sparkweave. Referred to as 'Admins' among the godly pantheon.

STELLIFEROUS DEITIES: Gods that appeared after the universe stabilized, sculpted from the fabric of the Sparkweave. Referred to as 'Admins' among the godly pantheon

ANCIENT DEITIES: Ancient species of Oculus, granted ascension after death by the Primordial and Stelliferous Era gods. Referred to as 'Mods' among the godly pantheon

MODERN DEITIES: Gods of the technology age and forward, created or granted ascension by one of any three eras of gods. Referred to as 'Mods' among the godly pantheon

Gods wearing lauros are defenders who fought bravely against the Great Nullification Event. As the Nullification struck during the Ancient Era, no Modern Era deities are adorned with lauros. Any gods who were on the side of the Nullification were ousted from Xyzūs and also lack lauros, though they still retain their godly powers. Some gods didn't take sides during the Great Nullification Event, and were not granted lauros nor ousted from Xyzūs - but are looked upon with godly disdain from both sides for their lack of action either way.

All sentient beings on Oculus routinely give offerings and sacrifices to the gods - usually various fruits, crystals, metals, and meats, but sometimes handmade items as well. These offerings are burnt in either a personal shrine or public temple, accompanied by spoken ritual word and a representation of the Spark (usually done by combining all the elements in water, through imbued crystal fragments that dissolve into it) before the elemental water is flung over the offerer(s) and plate, and the ritual ends. The gods in Xyzūs will receive whatever offerings were burnt once the flames die out, and will give small favors to their devout mortal followers in return. Offerings can be made by a group in a public space, or privately by one person in their home, it really doesn't matter - the gods will know who offered what in either situation. Number of people to a ritual is completely irrelevant, having no bearing on how well the ritual works or how much favor the gods return.

Many Oculus residents will provide additional offerings to their favorite gods, and will have statues of them and altars dedicated to them in their homes.
