Things are different in 2045.

For starters, dinosaurs never went extinct.

Xion and Maxwell are head researchers in a lab dedicated to studying the DNA of the species present in their facility. Xion was born without a right arm and with an unknown illness eating away at his organs. The doctors said he wouldn't live past 30. Maxwell is trying to save his younger brother's life. And he thinks he's done it- thinks he's created something using all the knowledge he's accumulated in hopes that it will save his brother.

He just doesn't expect his brother to become a real life Curt Conner. A whole dinosaur that is no longer sick but has no way of turning back to normal.

Xion can't stay like this forever, because if the comic books he and his brother love so much are anything to go off of he might lose any humanity he has left and revert to what he's become, a Spinosaurus. And as if it couldn't get any worse the government has caught wind of their experiment, and plans to shut down the lab and take everything within it with them, Xion included.

So now the brothers are fighting a nearly impossible battle- Xion working with the other dinosaurs in the facility to find a way to escape if things go south, and Maxwell rushing to make a cure for his brother before the feds can get their hands on the formula that turned him into a living weapon in the first place.

Time is against them. Xion might very well go extinct.
