Artist Identification Thread

Hopefully you guys can give me some idea of where to start with this little problem. I recently bought a few new characters from someone on DeviantART, but they didn't remember who the original artist who made them was, despite trying reverse image searches. I don't like not being able to credit back, so in another thread here on the forums someone suggested posting here as well.

Anyway, so, if any look familiar, please let me know who you think the original artists might be, cause I have absolutely no clue. I'm planning on posting them here with info I'm coming up with, so I'd like to give proper credit for these images.

So I double-checked a few more reverse image search sites for you! The hair shading style on the second one looks pretty similar to this boy I found, and they're on the same base:

(I'm not sure if the hair/hair shading is on the base that was used? If not it might be worth looking into!)

His lists the creator as Ginsuke on deviantart. I checked Ginsuke's gallery and scraps, but unless I totally missed the set that this Joel was in somehow, I think they've since deleted it. But maybe you could get in touch with them and see if they remember making yours at some point?

(sorry it's not much of a lead but it's all I've found so far)

I sent them a note to ask, and you were right! Nice catch, and thanks a lot for the help! How do you usually reverse search for those details? I haven't had any luck, but I don't usually need to do that either. Maybe I can try applying it for that last guy. lol

DracoFeathers Ahhh awesome! That's great to hear! :D

I use a couple different reverse search sites. The first one I check now is SauceNao, because I've had great luck with it so far. However if that one doesn't pull up anything (like in your case), I use this one here! It actually searches three browsers at a time: Google, Bing, and Yandex. Yandex is the one I've had the most luck with, and incidentally the same one that pulled up Joel. You can see the search results here.

Sometimes if neither of those work, and the adopt is on a base, I'll actually go find the base first and just search around deviantART for batches using that base. Sometimes you'll get lucky and the person will post their adopts in the base comments. That's usually where I check first, and then if that fails, I just search 'base by >insert username here<' and spend a long time looking through adopt batches ;u; Definitely not the most time efficient method haha but if you've exhausted all your other options, you can try that.

Good luck finding your other guy! He might be harder since it looks like his pic was actually cut out of the sheet (since he has the number next to him). But hopefully you'll find his creator! I'll keep an eye out too.

i have fewer characters i need to find credits for this time, but jesus every site i look on nothing is there

this tag shows all the ones i do have credits for and it's bugging for a while esp for paasl and yukio

(yukio is a strange case, there's no uncredited images on her, but the person i got the character from said it wasn't their design)

but alas any lead is a major help!
