Childhood MMO/Virtual World games

What MMO/Virtual World game did you like/have you played with when you were younger?

For me, I have a select few that I loved a lot:

Club Penguin: It was my thing, and I was super hooked. I loved playing Club Penguin as a child, and I had a 1 year membership that expired a few days before I stopped playing it back in 2014. It was closed and got replaced by CP Islands last year, but I don't mind CP Islands too much.

Fantage: I used to be super hooked on this game. It was one of the more popular kids MMO's at the time of launch. I've played it between September 2012 and March/April(?) 2013, before I stopped due to loss of interest. I'm so sad that it closed this year.

Shidonni: I don't know if this one counts as an MMO/Virtual World game, but it's a cute virtual pet game where you create your own pets by drawing them, and it has a lot of fun minigames included. It does require premium membership to grant you access to certain features, such as creating as many pets/food/cars/etc. as you want to. It probably closed down circa 2014/2015.

Big little bang/Star86: This is the last one that I want to talk about, but I loved this game the most. It's a music MMO for kids where you socialize, create music, build your own spaceship, and explore planets. It was such an underrated game, but it shut down 4 years ago because it wasn't very popular when it fully launched out of beta.

Honorable mentions go to Animal Jam, Transformice (Probably an MMO, but idk.), WeeWorld, Habbo Hotel, Second Life, Wooz World, and Secret builders. These are other MMO/Virtual World games that I've played when I was younger, but I don't want to make this post VERY long.

Feel free to tell me your childhood MMOs/Virtual World games!

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot that I also played Neopets a lot when I was little. I got very bored from it though.

Final Fantasy 11! My big bro had the ps2 and I would play Mithra. My wife (then just my gf) played Tarutaru. I was horrible at the game and never got anywhere, but it was really fun to just wander around and look at stuff, tbh -- I still remember how hard it was to get to Jeuno for your first chocobo.

I never really played web based games like neopets... I kind of did because my wife was like my best friend through childhood and she also played them, but I just wasn't really into them. I mostly spent my online time on GaiaOnline in the breedables/changeables subforum, which was basically what Adopts is today.

I feel like I'm a little too old for this, when I was an actual kid MMOs didn't exist yet. But I did grow up with some through my teen years.

THIS IS THE THREAD FOR ME

my older siblings and i have so so so much deep and treasured nostalgia for the mmos we played as a kid. the main ones were ether saga, perfect world international, and jade dynasty. especially in terms of the value of the memories, i think those were the best times in my life by far. jade dynasty was based off of the chinese novel, zhu xian and i actually got into it somehow even tho the translations were. very hard to read and barely accessible. so that entire thing means a ton to me even though beyond the xianxia and cultivation aspect, it's not really my genre anymore. i watched the donghua adaption for the nostalgia and it was the best AHA
they're all from the same company bc we didn't trust other ones at the time WHEEZE? ??? all of them have the most GORGEOUS music btw. i still love it all now as much as if not even more than i did then, and i really don't think that's just for the nostalgia value

LISTEN TO THIS. CONTINUOUS PURE BEAUTY AMAZING GORGEOUS BANGERS

ETHER SAGA MUSIC. PUREST BRIGHTEST LIGHTEST SOBBING MOMENT

JADE DYNASTY MUSIC IS PURE XIANXIA DELIGHT

ether saga and jade dynasty's western servers are both closed down now 😢 although pwi's is still kicking

ether saga had a whole little trend of these cute dance videos people would make. this is the best made and most iconic one. my oldest sibling made one once HAHA. i'm firefaerie. also holy frick actually i was like eight—

(edit: WAIT FRICK this thread is five years old?? must've gotten bumped somehow bc it was right on the first page—)
