Hi!

Since the original Unpopular Opinion Thread is locked (it turned into a shit-show reeeaaal fast) , I've gotten permission to remake it.

I've decided to use the original rules for the thread since those were gucci

Edit: I didn't mean to post ic aaaaaaaa

Spoilers: Rules

- Don't be very rude or snarky to others. Remember, everyone has their own personal opinions.

- Disagreeing with someone's opinion is allowed, as long as it's not rude.

- Yo don't namedrop people, even if they're not on this site.

- To avoid causing a mess, refrain from starting an argument at all times!

- If there's something wrong going on in this thread, or if it's going out-of-hand, please PM me so that I can take care of it!

- Vaguing someone is prohibited, and it's connected to the third rule.

- Please do not post more than twice per page, so that it won't cause too much of a mess.

- It's okay if you vent, don't go too all-out on it. This is not the Vent Board.

- Also, please try not to turn this thread into a saltfest.

- Please, no opinions focused on racism, LGBT, politics, religion and the like. These will cause a massive flamewar. Controversial opinions are also not allowed unless taken lightly.

- Don't say stuff like "I don't like X" or "What? I love X!" in a way that's aggressive. This is meant to be a nice thread about sharing your unpopular opinions, not countering someone else's opinion.

-If it's something nsfw, use a spoiler box, or blackout the text  like this

- Don't call this thread out as a "bad idea." If you don't like this thread, please do not post here.

-Failure to comply with these rules will result in a warning, or ban depending on how severely you broke the rules.

Ey yo,  if you see someone breaking the rules, pm me. I love it when ppl do this because I'm a blind bih.

None (yet, but I think it's time to bring this bad boy out.)

(American) country music actually isn't too bad, sure a lot of it isn't too good but like when you find the good ones?? god damn! No longer a country music hater I am no longer blinded by hate 🙌🙌🙌

Closed species are kinda stupid imo. If you like them, that's cool but i don't see the appeal.

30 isn't old and its annoying that people act shocked when someone that looks college aged says they're 30. That's still young, You aren't gonna shrivel up like a raisin once you're out of your 20s. On top of that, "you look good for your age" isn't that great of a compliment.

mawibblap

^ agreeing with you Pulcella fr, +

30 is not old, in-fact, I would even go as far as to say that 40 is also not old either.

lophiusdragon

+1 to 30 isn't old

And also agree someone isn't old until they are able to get senior discounts lol

apodoforcas

lmfao y’all are right 30 years old is not old at all; there’s just so many 14-16 year olds on this toyhouse site to where it makes everyone think 30 is elderly

also about the country music thing, that’s actually correct like. while i’m not a fan of most country songs i’ve heard the ones i do enjoy are 🔥🔥🔥

and then the one below me about “oc reaction to your oc” or interaction threads like. i’ve pretty much never took interest them either personally

PK_Skeletons

Agreeing with the whole 30 isn't old thing. I only really see people as old when they are in their 50s lol

OT: I don't really like those 'interact with my character' and 'my character reacts to your character' threads in character discussion. I don't see the appeal of them. They all feel a bit too roleplay-ey for me and in all honesty, I don't really care for it. Sure, if people like it then that is cool, but I just do not understand why there are so many of them. If I wanted to do a roleplay on here, I would just do a long post on an IC game in FG.

insomnimac

+1 to 30 not being old. I totally agree with Thranduil on that people aren’t really “old” until like, 60-65 (retirement age).

Also +1 to the character discussion thing. That’s just roleplaying, not character discussion? I feel like there should be a separate role playing subforum because there really isn’t one (not counting worlds, but that’s not really used for that anymore)

I don’t know if this is unpopular, but people who talk through the movie when watching it with someone else are the worst. I don’t need your commentary throughout the entire thing. I don’t need you asking 400 questions about the plot when I haven’t seen the movie either. Just shut up bro.

K1K1StaR

i`ll agree with the mass above

ajr are cool

I feel like discouragement towards people wanting to get into certain art forms is way too normalized now. I mean, I think it’s pretty universally agreed that you shouldn’t discourage artists. But I frequently see beginner musicians and writers get told that they’re not gonna make any money and that they should just give up (especially from musicians and writers that have made it in the industry).

I get telling people that it’s difficult and requires certain skills and self-discipline. But straight up saying that they should give up just rubs me the wrong way. Many people have dreamed for years about doing these things.

I also think telling people they’re not gonna make much money, even in a joking way, is kind of rude… why should I constantly encourage you to pursue your degree only for you to say that I’m not gonna make much money with a writing degree a minute later?

boomer memes are historically inaccurate

Wingspan +1 on people discouraging beginner artists. it really is damned if you do, damned if you don't for them. Because people will bully the hell out of artists who make common beginner mistakes, but also if they're 'too good' or have a lucky streak when they start off then you get the same people self-depreciating and whining about how seeing them makes themselves feel like quitting.

Also, I really don't like it when people use profitability to justify discouraging new artists. Have these people ever thought that not everyone going into the arts wants to make a profit & may just want a creative hobby? Or that not everyone wants to monetize every aspect of their lives?

Revocation clauses in ToS are stupid and super controlling. So what if someone done something or gives your design to someone you don't like? It's not in your hands anymore, so it should be out of your control. If someone buys a sticker from your small business and gives it to somebody you blocked, are you gonna try and take it back from them? No, that's dumb.
